The old Commander staple, Doran. How time flies, and how the mighty have fallen. I remember this guy single-handedly destroying my play group, how it just manhandled even Khalia and Animar decks. The deck was so weird that it actually threw a huge wrench into most decks plans, and it was a consistent threat! Now....Doran is hardly remembered. In the days of Nekusar and Prossh, who cares for old Doran? We do, and it's time to let your enemies remember how tough you are. Enjoy!
Doran is a fairly creature oriented deck, with a twist. Your might is from your toughness, and you rock some of the toughest cards around. Stuff like your 7 toughness Silklash Spider or your 13 toughness Trees. Doran flips how damage is dealt, so these cards now can tango with the best and win. Other than that, its just simple Commander essentials. Board wipes, tutors, ramp, and removal are all on the gameplan, which is all fine and dandy. Honestly, the big gimmick is that we flip how damage is dealt, which is enough to throw off most decks in combat. It's those pesky decks that don't rely on combat to win that give us trouble, but who cares when you can turn their life to 13 with one Tree and kill them with a buffed up Nyx-Fleece Ram?
