Making this deck was the most painful thing I've done in a VERY long time. I am a Goblin fanboy at heart, and these blasted Knife-Eared freaks have been the bane of my existence most of my life. With their trees and their mana ramp, Elves have ruined my Magic life for years! However....I recently started seeing a decline in Elf decks. Maybe the Goblins finally won? Maybe Elves were recognized as the pathetic knife-eared freaks they were? Nope, Delver evolved and Tron got worse. Pauper has warped itself from prolonged exposure to Control as it's Meta. So....for the moment I put my grievances aside. For a little while, I say we forget these grudge of a lifetime and put our differences aside, (even if you won't admit you totally stole our ears you stupid tree-humpers) so that we may conquer the enemy we really despise! I put this rivalry to momentary slumber to call upon the Guardians of the Forest! Let's unleash the wrath of the real weenies of magic and show the world why...KNIFE-EARS RULE!!! (God that was hard to admit.)
Ok, so basically....you have a lot of elves. I mean like...wow. I thought Goblins repopulated like bunnies, but....damn that's a lot of elves. For crying out loud, there's 37 in the main board with 5 more in the sideboard! If anyone can win the numbers game, it's Elves. So abuse it. Drop Elves left and right, abuse their mana ramp and tap abilities, then go nuts. Fill that other guy with so many arrows they'll be renamed Quiver, because all they do is hold you arrows. Elves like Timberwatch Elf and Lys Alana Huntmaster are great ways to close out a game, and with Distant Melody with all these Elves, they certaintly aren't hard to find!SIDEBOARD:This deck runs PLENTY of answers to flying, so you have ways to take on that annoying wizard. Scattershot Archer, SpidersilkArmor, and Gaea's Skyfolk are excellent answers, giving you plenty of ways to tear Delver right out of the sky. Also, this deck does wonders to the rare Sultai Scavenger with this package! Viridian Longbow and Moment's Peace are your answers to creature heavy decks, buying time and occasionally winning the game. Sabotage is the obvious artifact answer, and Relic fights Delve and Reanimator.
