I wanted a mono green elf deck that DIDNT use Craterhoof like so many other elf decks. This is a little slower yet has similar effects.
You want to put out your mana ramp elves first. Use your fogs and snags as needed. Regain any health lost with Wellwisher. Once you have 6 mana you can then delve into your library to pull Essence of the Wild. You have a few ways to do this. Also try to get your sorcery cards in hand. Use Cavern of Souls wisely. If they are running red then name your elves. If its black then name Essence. Just be smart about it. Unless you have 2 out then name both. Now dont attack with Essence yet save him. Use your elves to attack and chump block as you want them to die. You will bring them back from the grave inorder to activate Essence of the Wild's abilities. You can also use Garruk to pull elves from your library. The goal is to have a few copies of Essence out before you attack. Once you do this it should be easy to punch trough most any defenses that are up then kill them quickly.
