Deck Description

A cleric tribal deck with small combo-tastic features.

As for removal, I wanted to avoid putting in Banisher Priest/Fiend Hunter or Relic-Warder since board wipes are already a huge threat and they'd make it even more so. Oblivion Ring seemed obvious choice, since it may be fetched with Enlightened Tutor and if they get removed, that's one removal not targeted on Pestilence or Angelic Destiny, which often are the keys to victory.

How to Play

Pestilence plays a big role with Frontline Medic and works especially well with High Priest of Penance. While Frontline Medic is on the board with 2 other clerics (not including Mother of Runes), you should be attacking every turn, since you can mitigate the counter attack damage with Battletide Alchemist or a fetched Archangel Vault.

Angelic Destiny, counters from Mikaeus / Luminarch Aspirant can help boost up your creatures toughness to use Pestilence in case you are having hard time getting Frontline Medic and his indestructibility.

Enlightened Tutor is best played at end of opponents turn to fetch a gamechanger. If you are 1 mana short from Angelic Destiny or Battletide Alchemist you may want to fetch a Vault of Whispers instead.

Sin Collector is used to get rid of threats to board presence. Mother of Runes can protect one per turn, but removing their last removal spell might allow you to chump block or use protection as unblockability without fear of getting responded by a removal.

There's many non-basic lands for Weathered Wayfarer to fetch. If you don't really need any more mana, go for a Barren Moor/Secluded Steppe and cycle it instead. Orzhov Basilica can also bring back either of those or perhaps a Bojuka Bog. Desert helps you damage High Priest of Penance when opponent is unwilling to block him.

Revival//Revenge main purpose is to be a finisher by setting life totals so Pestilence will end the game. If you aren't getting there just yet, it can also bring back any key creatures killed in action.
