Deck Description

Using Crucible of worlds, strip mine, fastbond and zuran orb

and you can play strip mine infinite times and gain infinite life

After seeing Dango's Green Fall deck decided to update my land destuction deck and add green and its had an amazing effect.

I don't understand how this works...Or rather I don't know why you need Strip Mine.

If you sacrifice Strip Mine, it activates the Strip Mine ability which lets you destroy (not sacrifice) a target land. But I don't think you can use the Strip Mine sacrifice "twice," so to speak (Once for Strip Mine and once for Zuran Orb). So how are you activating the Zuran Orb??

What you'd have to do is just Sacrifice any land to Zuran Orb (+2 life), play it from your graveyard (-1 life) and then sacrifice it again. Rinse and repeat.

So yeah...the Strip Mine is unnecessary. You can play any land infinite times.

And all those "destroy land" cards are pretty useless from the viewpoint of the combo. Destroying and sacrificing are not the same thing and you still can't make them do double duty if it were. Maybe you should consider tossing some Landfall creatures ability as you do this (there's a really good suggestion for one that goes along with your "infinite life" theme in my own deck that I'll link).

So, check out my own "infinite deck". You could add a Zuran Orb to it if you wanted and then just sacrifice as many lands as you want without even bother to lose a life each time by brining it back.

the idea isn't to make infinite landfall, but i do see your point, the idea is to destroy every single land your opponent plays as with no mana most decks cant do a great deal.

for example if i have out fastbond, zuran orb, crucible of worlds and strip mine i can rinse and repeat to gain life but also to destroy as many lands as i please so even in double headed giant or multiplayer games i can still destroy every land on the battlefield and still have my life :)

The only reason i don't have 4 of both fastbond and strip mine is because both are restricted, the other destroy land cards are just till i get strip mine out. also a creature with strip mine's ability can still be used infinite times other than army ants as it taps.

You can't sacrifice Strip Mine to destroy a land and sacrifice it to the Zuran Orb in the same action. You gotta choose one or the other.

[1.] Pay 1 life to play Strip Mine. [2.] Sacrifice it to destroy a land. [3.] Pay 1 life to play Strip Mine. [4.] Sacrifice it to Zuran Orb, gain 2 life.

Rinse. Repeat. All the opponents' lands are destroyed, no net life lost. Now repeat steps 3-4 to gain an arbitrary amount of life.

This is a well-known (and little-used) combo. It requires more cards and more mana-intensive cards than Voltaic Key + Time Vault, which nets you infinite turns for practically nothing.

P.S. Put in some Lotus Cobras and you also get rid of all those mana ramp cards (Dark Ritual). I mean 3 black mana for 1 black mana is nice....but pretty pale compared to infinite mana of ANY COLOR whenever you want.

I use dark ritual so it's possible to get everything out turn 2 even if i only have crucible of worlds strip mine swamp and the ritual just means i can destroy 1 land a turn.

Also vYzion regarding the creature with landfall i need the artifact as otherwise i have no way have actually sacrificing my lands other than strip mine.

I win by attacking with the creatures I have when they have no mana most opponents normally concede though.

It's not ideal, but Exploration is a good replacement for your removed Fastbonds. It's not infinite, but it allows an extra iteration of the combo, and really really speeds up the early game.

Also, Scapeshift will thin your library /really/ fast. And sideboard some enchantment removal to counter Leyline of the Void.

I was thinking of adding 4 destroy enchantment cards. Gonna try it out with an added exploration

Added exploration and scapeshift and its helped it out massively thanks as it now doesnt just rely on getting the 1 combo out basically it thins all the deck out of lands and just leave the stuff i'm going to be using :)

U should take a look at my Land Destruction Deck, i got a land that make me able to make oppponent's lose infinite life, and the whole deck is more based on making sure the opponent got nothing! You should get 4 wasteland and some Verdant Catacomb that make u able to thin out ur deck! Ur comments on my land destruction deck are welcome!

I like the changes, Scapeshift and Exploration are amazing cards! The only problem I run into with my sample hands is the availability of colored mana. Most hands are capable of pulling for the combo early on, but can't because there's not enough of the needed colored mana to cast the spells to do so.

I recommend removing some basic lands for Gemstone Mine and Rainbow Vale. They're rather cheap for being mana of any color because of the stipulations attached to them. Neither of which are particularly harmful in your deck, making those lands not only viable but also much needed to help get the right colored mana to facilitate the rest of your combo.

Cheers!

Thanks and yeah I found that its quite hard getting the right colour mana so have added 4 gemstone mine's and like you said in this deck its not a problem it means i never struggle for mana of any colour.

Why don't you play a set of Mox and Black Lotus and Ancestral Recall and such?

0

Unfortunately i don't own a black lotus or any of the moxes and because i've just had a baby don't think i can afford them. I already have this deck and if i ever get the chance to own the moxes and lotus they would definitely go in this deck.
