Deck Description

Had an idea to try make a budget version of a grapeshot storm deck, but thought I'd take it further and try making it mono red too.

*This is a rough draft, and thus untested.

I would highly recommend adding in Past in Flames and swapping it for Pyromancer's Swath, or at least 2 copies of it since Past in Flames allows you to double cast stuff and add even more mana to your mana pool, draw more cards, so on and so forth.

Past in Flames is a good card, but it costs $4.89 a pop where Pyromancer's Swath only costs $0.59 and allows for a much lower storm count.

Why do you have an evolving wilds?

Thins out the number of lands in the deck, increasing the chance to draw much needed nonlands.

Couple problems I see:

Evolving wilds does not count as a spell, so having it here has almost zero use when you could just have drawn Mountains there instead. My advice would be to find another instant or sorcery to give you mana that adds to the effect of Storm.

Your whole deck is so low-costing mana-wise that it almost makes having 4 locket of yesterdays unhelpful in a pinch. There are probably better low-costing cards if you're looking for kickers for Storm.

Extra unneeded cards make for perfect discard options for Faithless Looting, Tormenting Voice, and Wild Guess, allowing me to hold onto better cards. Remember, I'm trying to make this mono red, if I where to add blue like most storm decks, I'd include a whole range of other, potentially better cards.

But... 4 more mountains would literally do the same exact thing; no need for evolving
