Deck Description

Main combo - Natural Affinity (turning all lands into 2/2 creatures) and Pyroclasm (dealing 2 damage to all creatures, thus killing ALL lands) and with Dingus Egg out, 2x[number of lands] in damage.
Side combos - Liquimetal Coating + Isochron Scepter (with either Shatter or Naturalize imprinted) <- that's instant speed kill whatever I want.
Coldsteel Heart, Firewild Borderpost and Spectral Searchlight to make sure I still got mana after the main combo goes off.
Between Firewild Borderpost and Gruul Turf bouncing lands to my hand, I should have less lands out than the opponent so that Dingus Egg doesn't do as much damage to me.
Terravore for in case Dingus Egg doesn't kill the opponent :p

LOL. I'm just waiting on the Dingus Eggs I ordered before putting this deck together :p

Maybe consider running more mana-generating artifacts & creatures and/or Zendikons?

Also, Mycosynth Lattice for additional artifact=any permanent, and Crucible of Worlds to play lands from your graveyard.

Hmmm... Mana adding artifact creatures mite be a good idea, but they'll have to be toughness 3 or greater to survive the Pyroclasm so I'll look into it. The only Zendikon I find to be useful is the blue one and this deck is red green, so I won't be using them.

A very good way of buring lands. ;)

Check out my latest deck: Mind Shuffling Abuse
I really need some comments on whether it seems viable or not.

That's an awesome land, I must find me some :p

Nice idea, what about tossing in some Ankh of Mishra so whenever another land comes into play that's 2 more damage hitting them, then if you wanted toss in some memnite's and hit them one at a time so you don't need to take any damage as well playing lands, even tossing in some pumpers like Giant Growth or Brute Force on him to deal some more damage.

I don't think I'll be using Ankh of Mishra because I'll take damage too and I won't be adding any more creatures than the 2 Terravores, they're only in as an in case measure.

I'm thinking of replacing red with black (Pyroclasm will be replaced with Infest so that the main combo can still work) so I can add Doom Blade and Go for the Throat for some control while I wait for my combo :p

The grossest creature in any land destruction deck is Argothian Wurm.

That it is, just wish I could get my hands on some (or the red colour shifted version)

very nice combo, and the aspect of possible suiciding while killing your opponent, the type of deck i enjoy.

But some other artifacts that produce mana could be an idea, just so that once you kill all lands you can still produce a good amount of mana

I'm going to actually try put this deck together and try out some of the things people suggested here, so I'll take a look at some other artifact mana and try get a balance that doesn't affect the speed of the deck.

change shatter for crush... its cheaper

But with Shatter I can target creatures if need be.

Dude, Khalni Gem... return 2 lands to your hand, then tap to add 2 mana of any color to your pool.

Normally I'm against that artifact, but it'll work very nicely in this deck, thanks for the suggestion.

What about Smash to Smithereens and Ancient Grudge? Both I think are better options than Shatter.

0

They're both good cards and I'll use the Ancient Grudge (if I can get any).

wat'd be really funy would be mark of the assylum to keep your lands allive or planar rebirth to return your lands to play. but considering this isn't white.....
maybe roiling terrain as an alternate to dingus egg/terravore? it also doesn't have the risk of suicide... other than that, boom-bust, impending disaster, and destructive force are one-card substitutes for your combo.
hope i helped.

Only problem i see, what about your defense? great offense, but still needs a little time of set up too, and u only have 2 actual creatures

0

Early defence is a problem, but this deck was designed for multiplayer where politics should keep me alive long enough to get the combo out :p

and what do you do when you play someone side-boarding Terra Eternal, or even worse, Worm Harvest?

0
Posted 08 April 2011 at 03:55

I'm not sure about the terra, but pyroclasm will kill the worms.

0
Posted 08 April 2011 at 05:59

You could always run Mycosynth Lattice + Darksteel Forge to make your lands indestructible so that pyroclasm wont destroy them.

"in case Dingus Egg doesn't kill the opponent"

When, in the history of Landingus has that ever happened? =P

I like the deck, especially because as of late I am really beginning to dislike lands...(long story)

Lol, true that :p Glad to see you like it :D Funny thing is I've been on a land hate run lately. Even more funny is that of the 4 decks of mine (going by memory here) that have made it to the front page, 3 of then are land destruction decks :p

Hey man, my experience is that everyone has a deck type that they just "know/get"...who knows, your niché might just be land hate.

0

u should get some strip minea, and crop rotations, Ghost Quarter, Wasteland. then i would hate ur deck lol. but alot of those lands ur dont have room for but u really should get some crop rotations

0

The problem with the stuff you just suggested is that they'll trigger the Dingus Egg and deal me damage. I already have 3 Crop Rotations, but I use them in my Worm Harvest deck.

In theory Gaea's Anthem would work out fairly well here so that pyroclasm won't be able to destroy your own lands. Both to avoid accidentally killing yourself, and to put yourself in a hugely powerful board position.

That it would, but the biggest problem is getting a set :(

I run a similar combo in my deck Land Destruction (Green) www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=111924 but mine requires less mana - Liquimetal Coating (2 mana) + Splinter (4 mana) :p
