Tweaking my Standard landfall deck for rotation. I'd rather discard a card than take 5+ every turn from a flying monster. Also, being a ramp deck, Paying the {5} instead of discarding a card is an option mid to late game.I also want to test Honored Hierarch in Leaf Gilder's spot. Once online, a 2/2 vigilance creature isn't that bad for a mana dork, just getting him online regularly is what has me worried. *Edit*-3 Fiery Impulse (Lightning Axe is so much better)-3 Grove Rumbler (has become less and less useful, also needed space for Fiery Temper) +2 Lightning Axe (holy crap, this is an awesome removal spell) +4 Fiery Temper (Testing this. May return Grove Rumbler if this doesn't work out)
Land ramp to play Omnath asap; to trigger Omnath, Nissa, Zendikar's Roil; and get Sylvan Advocate +2/+2.Preferred first few turns of play:Turn 1: Evolving Wilds, fetch Mountain / Forest (whichever is needed)Turn 2: Leaf Gilder or Sylvan Advocate.Turn 3 and 4: Mana ramp spell (Nissa's Pilgrimage or Explosive Vegetation).Turn 5 and 6: Omnath and / or Chandra.If any Elemental dies while Omnath is out, you get to deal 3 damage to any creature or player. This works nicely with his own token production, Zendikar Roil's Tokens, and Chandra's tokens from her [+1]. Sadly, Chandra's tokens getting exiled doesn't trigger Omnath, but that means they weren't blocked, so that's ok :pSideboarding is easy.Omnath, Locus of Rage <> Gaea's Revenge. Removal heavy decks can kill Omnath before he gets a chance to do anything meaningful. Gaea's Revenge also gets around control. Fiery Temper <> Rending Volley. Volley would be mainboard if not for its limitation.Nissa, Vastwood Seer <> Skysnare Spider. Because giant flying creatures (demons, dragons, etc.) have proven to be this deck's biggest weakness, I've been forced to include hate specific to it. Rending Volley can also come in if said flying creatures are legal targets for it.
