Deck Description

Infinite Mill combo using Artifacts

How to Play

Battered Golem and Mirran Spy untap each time you cast an Artifact spell
Banishing Knack and Retraction Helix allows a creature to tap and bounce any nonland permanent.
Trinket Mage can search for any Artifacts the cost 1 or less, that's any Artifact in here except for Battered Golem. (including Darksteel Citadel)

Combo time:
With Altar of the Brood and Mirran Spy / Battered Golem out; target the creature with Banishing Knack / Retraction Helix and cast one of the 0 costing Artifacts to mill 1.
Now tap the creature to bounce the 0 cost Artifact back to your hand, cast it again to mill 1, then repeat.

Backup plan:
Ensoul Artifact on Darksteel Citadel or Darksteel Relic makes a 5/5 indestructible creature that you can just bash face with :p

Deck discussion for Mill 'n Bounce

Interesting combo that also happens to be pretty mana efficient too. Just have to worry about Artifact hate like Stony Silence, or the one drop creature removal like Path to Exile or Lighting Bolt.

Everything is weak to something, it's just the nature of the game. Now, you can include stuff to protect, OR you can include redundancy (which is what I went for). Splinter Twin was vulnerable to Path and Bolt, but that didn't stop it from being one of the best decks before its banning.

Stony Silence isn't too much of a problem either. With the exception of granting Battered Golem the tap to bounce ability, which can just be given to Mirran Spy, it doesn't affect the combo at all. Altar of the Brood is a triggered ability, not an activated ability. Stony Silence only stops activated abilities.

Not sure how efficient it would be, but it would be amusing to have Distortion Strike or Aqueous Form as maybe sideboards cards to buff your unsuspecting 5/5 indestructible creatures.

Hypothetical question: If you enchanted your Darksteel Citadel or Relic and made it until a 5/5 creature, then cast like a Phyrexian Metamorph, it would be indestructible as well wouldn't it?

"Except for also being an artifact, Phyrexian Metamorph copies exactly what was printed on the original permanent and nothing more (unless that creature is itself copying something or is a token; see below). It doesn't copy whether that permanent is tapped or untapped, whether it has any counters on it or Auras attached to it, or any noncopy effects that have changed its power, toughness, types, color, and so on."

So, Phyrexian Metamoph copying either Darksteel will be a copy of them and be indestructible, but won't be a creature, let alone a 5/5 (unless you enchant it with another Ensoul Artifact later) as the Metamoph only copies what printed on the actual card.

Ah, yeah that makes sense. It's interesting how the mechanics of cloning work. If it was just Clone instead of the metamorph the same effect would occur, even though it only copies a creature.

Clone can copy the animated Artifact, but it'll enter as just the artifact, for the same reason Metamoph does. It's actually an interesting way to double up on the copied permanent.
