If this is for casual play then you should look into using stoneforge mystic. Also sai of the shinobi is a great turn 1 drop that can equip itself to creatures coming onto the field.I have been working on an equipment deck for a while and what I have learned is that you want a lot of low cost creatures. when it comes to epuipments the costs can be higher though because of stuff like kor outfitter and stoneforge mystic, however you definately want some early game equipments like mask of avacyn and sai of the shinobi to start pressuring you opponent quick. Field presence is key to any game.
