Deck Description

To honor the recent unbanning of Sword of the Meek, I present...Thopterblade!

Thopter Foundry + Sword of the Meek + Krark-Clan Ironworks = infinite Thopter tokens! Put them to good use!

Credit to Dedwards for the inspiration

How to Play

Pay early game control until you get a foundry, sword, and ironworks out, then combo them until you have enough artifacts to do one of several things:
1: Attack with your army of tokens
2: Cast Tezzeret and get his ultimate to go off
3: Sacrifice tokens to Ironworks so you can cast Blightsteel
4: Use the tokens with Time Sieve until you can do one of the previous methods

Enjoy!

Deck discussion for Thopterblade

While Fabricate is great for fetching artifacts, most of your artifacts cost 2, making Muddle the Mixture worth considering. It can fetch the main combo's pieces or counter stuff (instants or sorceries).

Thoughtcast might be better than Machinate as it can draw you cards for as little as {U}. (I'm not 100% sure which is better)

Stoic Rebuttal is a strong counter in artifact decks. With Metalcraft active, it's effectively Counterspell.

Darksteel Citadel, while it only adds {C}, it is an artifact that counts towards both Metalcraft and Affinity.

I only went for fabricate because it can also hit blighsteel. Muddle is still good though. Thoughtcast is great, but machinate allow me to stack my deck as I choose after picking an artifact. Forgot about stoic rebuttal. Might find room for citadel

The combo isn't infinite without the Ironworks, though, you might want to change the description.

I'll use this list to track the cards that will go up in price now ... wow, Tezzeret got expensive overnight in the backwash of Sword of the Meek's unbanning!

The combo with Time Sieve is infinite. all you need is 5+ mana to make the 5 thopters needed to activate Time Sieve, then through the extra turns, you can slowly amass an infinite number of thopters (or just cast Blightsteel). Academy Ruins helps prevent yourself from milling yourself.

But yes, just the Sword + Foundry is limited to the amount of mana you have to spend on it.

Ya, a lot of cards expected to see play thanks to Sword's unbanning will shoot up in price. Give it a month or so for the hype to die down (some) and the price will drop a bit.

I was talking about this line in the deck description which just isn't true:
"Thopter Foundry + Sword of the Meek = infinite Thopter tokens!"

I like the deck, I was building something similar already, started last night. there is a lot of hate for the combo sadly. ooze, relic, smash to smithereens, abrupt decay, kolihgans command. I cant wait to see how it plays and watch it in some tournaments, I really hope its viable

Well, it's a cheap combo and one part brings the other back into play if it got destroyed. So I'd say it's good thing that there are enough countermeasures.

yea foundry is what good players are going to aim there removal at. but tezzeret, fabricate, and academy ruins sure help

I've designed a build that even uses Myr Retriever too. Actually, thinking now, maybe including another sacrifice outlet in my design might make the Retrievers more useful...

Apologies to anyone that's been dealing with a certain unpleasant 'blackman' here on vault. I have deleted his comment because I will not be dealing with his shit any longer. That being said, yes I'm aware of the issues this deck would have with stony silence. This deck also isn't even designed for competitive play, so I doubt I would be worried anyways
