It just feels right, as a planeswalking super-powerful wizard, to cast planeswiping super-powerful fireballs. Doesn't it? We all know it does.As a long-time magic player I've always loved the very simple mono-red strategy of melt-your-face-down magic. As I got into EDH many years ago I always had the desire of doing a fun, high octane mono red commander deck, but we didn't have the right legendary to go with it back then. I stopped playing for many years, and when I came back to the EDH format last year I laid my eyes on this lil' baby here.
As usual in EDH, you just wanna ramp and have Neheb out as early as f***ing possible. Of course having a battledrive beforehand is good, but any of the haste boots is even better, as this deck's greatest weakness is not having Neheb on board. Whispersilk cloak is also great help, but overall, you just wanna make sure 'Hebby stays up. Politicking is also good means to that end.Of course you can just do a progressive smackdown and win, but most of the times I find that turtling up a little bit and then going for that explosive one-turn win is more efficient. Having as little as just Neheb, or maybe one more creature, is enough to win.Put something like Marauders, Berserkers' Onslaught, Furnace of the Rath or the Dictate, swing, use Fury of the Horde, Relentless Assault or Seize the Day to hit more and more, stack up mana, finish people off with things like Fireball, Comet Storm or Banefire.This deck might burn itself off of cards, which is recurrent in this type of mono-red strategies, so there are some cards that try to make up for that, such as Sin Prodder, Tower of Fortunes and Mask of Memory. Don't underestimate them.Overall, just explode things and have a lot of fun as your friends get super pissed with that 4k dmg fireball you just cast on the whole table. I love it.
