Deck discussion for Aggro Mono Red

Take out Shock. Add in Chain Lightning.

You are not running enough Goblins to fully benefit (consistently) to run Goblin Grenade. I would take them out and add two more Pyroclasm for your opponent's creatures.

I don't have chain lightning and i'm not planning on buying it since it is a bit expensive :/ it would be great though.
And yeah, i'll remove goblin grenade.
Thanks for the advice!Cheers.

Yep, I stopped playing Magic years ago, and just got back into it. I didn't realize how much Chain Lightning went up in price. I got them way back, when they were cheap. In theory, you can add them just to this deck online, and your real deck at home just keep the Shocks in them. I was just suggesting a better card for you. Shock does 2 damage, Chain Lightning does 1 more damage for same mana price.

Yeah, they have really buffed the price on it.
Yep, excaly! This is the deck I have now, that's why I wanted to keep the shocks on the list.
Thanks bro.

Fireblast is an evergreen on most burn decks.
Land destruction kinda looks out of place here. Remove Goblin Grenade and add Reckless Abandon.
Also Fireslinger is not an optimal choice. Go for some more intensive burn card, Chain Lightning, Lava Spike, your usual stuff.

Excelent advice, much appreciated! Also, reckless abandon seems super sweet.

Now it sounds like my red deck, Razka! Geez.

Reckless Abandon, Chain Lightning, and Fireblast are all in my red deck.

Razka is right, stuff like Reckless Abandon plus Spark Elemental is dangerous stuff.

Here is what Razka is talking about:

Turn 1 through 3 do small damage via Chain Lightning Raging Goblin Lightning Bolt Shock, stuff like that.

Turn 4. Have 4 mana in play. You have Reckless Abandon, Fireblast, and Ball Lightning in your hand.
You tap 3 mana to cast Ball Lightning. Attack with Lightning for 6 damage. Then cast Reckless Abandon for 1 remaining mana, to deal an extra 4 damage, sacking the Ball Lightning (she had to be sacked anyways, might as well throw a Reckless Abandon on her, right?). You have just done a potential 10 damage. All 4 of your Mountains are tapped. You sacrifice 2 of your mountains to cause 4 more damage with Fireblast. 14 total damage on turn 4. You probably just killed your opponent on turn 4 because all of your spells you cast on Turns 1-3.

Also, Fireslinger is the weaker of your cards in your deck. Would take them out.

I liked your comment Razka.

Haha, well, you know what they say dude, imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. ;)
That means your red is very good.

My unloved Red deck. I am really trying to make it better. Help if you can.

P.S. I don't feel bad for posting my deck in this comment because I liked this deck and gave honest advice as to how to maybe make the deck better.

Good luck, Dusk.

Thanks for the advice guys!
I have to agree the fireslingers are really slowing it down and don't bring anything new to the table.
Maybe i'll add Goblin Arsonist... (what do you guys think creature wise?)
I really love your deck jessie :P
I think i'm also going to remove Chandra Nalaar, by the time I cast her, the opponent should already be dead with a aggro mono red deck.

Well, seeing this as more of an aggro deck and less of a burn deck, you COULD hypotetically invest in some heavy hitter. Jackal Pup, Vexing Devil, all good choices. If you want to stick with goblins, 2 Mogg Fanatic and 2 Goblin Arsonist. But I'd rather go with devil or pup.

Yeah, those cards are great and cheap, not counting vexing devil ofc xD
Wich should I remove to replace the ones you listed?

I would suggest this. Minus 4 Guttersnipe and minus 2 Stromkite Noble. 1 Chandra. -2 Goblin Grenade.

Stromkite is just...i like the idea of him, but there are quicker cards for aggro. They have a red Slith like him, I think.
Same with Guttersnipe and Chandra. They are good cards..but not for speed.
Goblin Grenade is awesome in a pure Goblin deck. But if you don't have a lot of them in your deck...then it isn't that good of a card. Reckless Abandon becomes better in a deck with only a few goblins in them.

Those are the cards I might take out.

And awesome realization with Chandra. Good job there, guy. By the time you play her, your opponent should already be dead or close enough to death that a burn spell could kill them. It is almost wasted mana, by the time you get to cast her.

Expensive cards I might suggest, as did Razla. would be Vexing Devil...and if you absolutely have to run Goblins, Goblin Guide. 2/2 goblin with haste, for one freaking mana!!! Not going to recommend them just to save you some money (I work and have kids, money is tight, lol).

You may could just run 4 copies of cards you already have in your deck...like 4 Ball Lightning/Raging Goblin/Elemental.

Or you could add in a quick 1 mana drop creature card like Jackal Pup. A 2/1 creature for 1 mana is super fast!!! And i think it is cheap. Razka gave more good advice, with Jackal Pup/Vexing Devil.

Good luck, and keep us posted on how the deck goes against your opponents.

Thanks man! Thats quite helpful.
Maybe i'm gonna buy 4 mob fanatics since they're better than goblin arsonist (you can sac them), jackal pups and i'll get some vexing devils when I get enough money.
Stormkirk would be much better if it had haste on it.
Not quite sure about guttersnipe, though.. it's a pretty good card. But I guess I can give it try.
Thanks again :P

Guttersnipe is a freaking awesome card! But maybe not for speed. It is a better combo card than pure speed card. I feel you though, it is hard to remove a good card from your deck. I do feel you there.

Totally xD
Its tough when you want all the good cards in your deck but there has to be a limit, makes me sad haha

Oh and btw, goblin guide is so freaking good! But as you said, money is tight, and since i'm only 15, there is no good way of making money except for birthdays and things like that xD.
And yeah, i'll keep you guys posted on what happens to the deck.

Man I feel like an old geezer now.
Anyway dude, if you're gonna just play "Casually" - so nothing competitive, no tournament, all that stuff - just proxy your missing cards. This way you can also test them on the field, and buying them only when you're absolutely sure they're gonna be a good purchase.
More than once I bought cards for decks because I thought they would be amazing, but they really weren't.

Yeah, i'll proxy them and see how it goes.
It happened to me also, buying cards I thought would be a good fit but ended being useless.
