How to Play

With so many of my cards in other decks, I ran out of special lands to pilot this grixis burn deck. That got me thinking, exactly how good can these cluestones be?

This is a burn deck, so it has you drawing for some of the better cards. It also requires a bit of mana to work right. Still, it's a powerful deck, and leaves most it's damage in burn spells. You'll have plenty of them just make sure you realize all the synergy.

Rubblebelt maaka discards for one, then you can morgue burst it out, and deal it's damage and discard the thing again. Nivix Cyclops will surely take that buff, plus 9? Three direct? Runechanter's Pike? It can get deadly.

Sire of Insanity is also a pretty nice way card to blast out and morgue burst back in, seeing as the damage dealt to the opponent is six coming and going.

This deck is really about big damage, but don't get it wrong, it can hold it's own too!
Augur of bolas is a pretty good sitter, and can fetch a spell or two. You can keep this guy around for blocking, and maybe get him a bit lethal with a bloodrush. I'll block with Auger and buff him when I can.

Searing spear and dissipate can leave it's mark, as you would expect, but add in a melek? Things get exciting.

Sure you can cast searing spear from your library for a quick three damage x2, but what happens when you have a dissipate revealed? They STOP casting! That or cast something dumb first. Either way, it changes how they spend their mana! Keeping them on their toes, and off your life total.

You'll most likely be cycling through all the cluestones in this deck pretty savy. IF you can do it at the end of THEIR turn, you'll be keeping those cards in hand.

Sire of Insanity never really needs to hit the field, yet don't be afraid if he does. No biggy if you are playing on the draw, at least when not when you have a six four beater!
