Deck Description

just because i think everyone needs just one dragon deck :)

This is actually my 12th edition of this deck.... It's seen a lot of twists and turns over the years.... But recently I've really been playing a lot of flicker, particularly conjures closet with broodmate. >:)

Enjoy!

Deck discussion for Dragons mark 11

indeed, i think i'm gonna use somethings here to build a godsire deck. your deck is very nice. i kindda didn't get how it works very much ^^". my deck is good, my biggest autocritic is that it is to slow -.-

its not that slow with elvish piper have you ever put an 8mana 3colors on turn 5

other thing isnt demonic tutor restricted?

see it all depends on the draw.... ive hand a land with evolving wilds, terramorphic exspanse, prismatic omen with crucible worlds in one hand. with the continuing shuffling i was able to draw dragon arch and elvish piper. i was able to litterally search for exactly the land i needed when i needed it. worked out well when i started pumping out vampire, broodmate, and hellkite dragons by the 4th and 5th rounds.

and its been so long since ive been in tournament i still play for fun with some friends..... i guess if i did take this to tournament i would adjust accordingly.

nice build, im sure it would beat my dragons. Any tips?

I like the dragon arch combo, what I don't like is the multicolor of everything. it is a little pricey but well made. dragonstorm is a nice addition, yet it seems more of just thrown in there. I have seen dragonstorm decks win on turn 2. It does seem very efficient and the dragons that are included are perfect.

i know that i dont have the traditional dragonstorm deck....and it was a last minute decision but i think givin some of the other combos here, it fits in rather nicely, and plays rather well.

I'm actually glad you didn't go for a traditional dragonstorm. Almost everyone does when making a dragon deck and you dared to be different, well done :p

Have you thought of playing a couple of Patriarch's Bidding's? You could pull your dragon cards to your graveyard with Scion of the Ur and then bring them all into play with Patriarch's Bidding? I like your deck very much, I have a 5 colour deck myself using a couple of Scion of the Ur's and 4 x Maelstrom Archangles. Please take a look if you get a chance I would appreciate your feedback :)

yea you difently have the right idea.... but patriarchs blessing is one of those cards i play once and only if i had a number of dragons in the grave. (hopefully not the case) adun oakenshiled is kinda my ticket out of the grave.

Here's another dragon that could help with getting others back from the grave:
Bladewing the Risen

yea bladewing is nice...and often when i think about revising this deck bladewing is the first on the list..
but havent had the guts to try and work him in.

There's no harm in trying it. Best case, you like it, worst case, you don't and then just turn it back to what you had before (just take note of what you took out to try fit it in)

LOVE IT! As I looked through this I saw a creature I forgot to place on my Dragon's List and it was Dragonmaster Outcast! LOL! I'm looking at it and it feels left out....gotta change that! LOVE IT! I wish they would update Dragon Arch though. I am not a fan of anything older then the Conflux set.

Something that works pretty well with Vampiric is Basilisk Collar, or Gorgon Flail if you don't have Collar, to give the Dragon deathtouch and so it can gain HUGE amounts of counters while killing oppnent's creatures.

semblance anvil :] imprint any creature, and every creature cost 2 less to cast! only for colorless mana though. Then you could possibly see some more demonic tutor and creature cast on the same turn. That might make things a little faster, definitely throw in the basilisk collar like alex said. It would make the dragon killer.... Great deck congrats on front page!

Personally I don't like symblance anvil. Because if they kill the anvil, it pretty much is a two for one.

prismatic omen turns each land you into all kinds but this dosen't make the lands produce any colour right? 'Cause if it does I have spent so many time of my life making good mana bases for my 5 colour decks and that just does it... And I have one so... Does it do that?

0
Posted 30 December 2010 at 12:15

If a land is of a basic type (eg. Forest) it can produce the type of mana that type produces (eg. green), so Omen does allow you to produce any colour mana with your lands. That's what makes the card so awesome :p

Yea its true :) certainly a must have for multi-colored decks...... dragon arch too is another key cards for gold cards.

Hey there, I saw your Comment and thanks for recommending I have a look at this one.
Yeah, our decks do try and get our dragon's out early, but yours relies on them in your hand, mine from the grave (well, mainly for ours at least). But i'm not sure, mine might be a bit faster, you have to play 4 mana to play that elvish piper, but you can always stall for a while with the fog's and the holy day, but at best that can't stall you for too long before you can start using this to summon your creatures with piper (you don't have anything to pull them into your hand.)
Besides that, an extra Prismatic Omen perhaps, you don't really need the island's in there do you?
But, anyway, perhaps, for towards the end-game, you might like to add a wild pair in, it's green, and since you're mainly relying on elvish piper, it should fit in quite well, despite its incredible cost of course.

Here's my dragon reanimate deck plz rate :)

i can run from the grave a bit too.... reborn hope, teneb and oakenshield keep creature out of the grave while piper and dragon arch keep em into play. while demonic tutor and fauna shaman add to my hand. i dunno.... i think it works rather well.
oh... good call on the islands. prismatic omen was a last minute decision and i forgot to take em out after the addition. thanks :)

Thanks everyone for your ideas and input! :) ive decided to add basilisk collar for vampiric dragon, return dragon arch, and add crucible of worlds for evolving wilds and terrmorphic exapnse to continually search and the mana types i need.

yea your right..... i did have a couple islands for just that purpose. but prismatic omen takes care of that for me :)

I like it. Simple, elegant, destructive. I find lands are taked down easily. I have a land destrustion deck myself. I would recomend using, or at least sideboarding, a Darksteel Ingot or 2. Well worth its 3 colorless cost as it doubles as any color, and is indestructable. Thats the weakness of prismatic omen. Just a thought. Overall, I lvove the deck. Glad to see a unique dragon deck make a name for itself.

Thanks ! :) im glad you like it! i do like the darksteel ingot. but i find for this style of deck prismatic omen has become one of the key cards. ive never faced a fully functional land destruction deck with this one.... and i suppose if it played well i might be in some kinda trouble trying to win.
but maybe building a proper sideboard is not so bad an idea.

I do not have the best dragon deck, but I have found that Kilnmouth Dragon works well if it is one of the first dragons you play.

Dude revolves to heavily on two cards piper and arch what happens when you dont get them or they get destroyed as soon as they come out. Good idea though just no back up plan in case it goes bad not enough low mana blockers for early. A elemental could reck this quick. You wanted my opinion there ya go. Put some lightning grieves in for you shroud to protect you essentials. Good idea though
