ymm replace divination with fathom mage because for one more mana you could draw so many more cards and have another beater.

I like it , it's a turn 3-4 and it can draw me more cards then i need, but over all what do you think of this deck?
... Good , bad , horrible?

Also should i leave Varolz in?

mmm no replace him with a fathom mage because basically the only 2 things worth scavenging are corpsejack menace and the dude who already has scavenge. So you would be better off with more fathom mage.

Good stuff going on, I'm running something really similar right now. Biggest flaw I can see is the lack of mana fixing and ramp. Even if you can't get the rest of the shock lands for these colors, get 4 sylvan caryatid ASAP. They'll make for a far more reliable turn 3 4 drop. To make room I'd drop the syncopates, a putrefy, and varolz. These are all good cards, but your aggressive shell doesn't really have time or desire for counterspells, and 3 putrefy is definitely enough. I'd also consider dropping nylea, considering your devotion isn't the highest and your ideal finisher already has trample.
Other cards to consider:
Korozda guildmage: makes your creatures hard to block for the final swing, or combo off with master biomancer for tons of giant tokens.
Scavenging ooze: one of the best creatures in the format. Aggressively costed while offering tons of late game post-verdict potential.
Hero's downfall: gotta kill them elspeths.
Vastwood hydra: not the greatest hydra usually, but its surprisingly great against the mono black decks running around. They tend to have tons of spot removal, and the hydra likes to get doom bladed. Also really silly when combo'd with korozda guildmage.

I hope this helped! Check out my version if you want a bit more inspiration. Its a bit more ramp heavy and late game than yours, but we run a few of the same cards. :)

Thank you, i have one sylvan and a couple of the vastwood hydras on hand, my question is what should i replace with these cards.
and yes i do need mana fixing also i like my 4 putrefy but i'd like to have 2 downfall of the hero.

Thank you! I have some mana fixing now and I randomly found 2 vastwood hydra so that works out. I'm going to would to get a Progenitor Mimic maybe? and more dual lands to help fix my mana base.

Mimic would be okay, but I don't think you need him. For the rest of the caryatids since you dont wanna drop a putrefy, I'd drop 1 give//take, nylea, and move that abrupt decay to the sideboard.

I'll try it, and I can see why I don't need Nylea anymore due to korozda guildmage. Getting rid of a give and take makes me less aggressive around turn 3 and makes them more rare when i wanna put some +1/+1 counters on Biomancer. I do trust you though , and i need all the help i can get when i go to FNM with this deck. So thank you

Hey what about Prophet of Kruphix

0

Glad to help. Prophet is fine for a more midrangey build, and I used to have her in my version. However, I often found myself casting my entire hand very quickly after dropping her, and then getting board wiped and forced to top deck. There just isn't room for reliable enough card draw to support her. Either that, or she would just eat a removal spell as soon as she hit the board. If you find a spot for her then go for it, but I think what you have now is better.

Prophet fits better in a deck like this:

fathom mage gives oodles of card draw so really there is enough card draw if you use more fathom mage.

In an ideal situation, yes. But she's really fragile and hard to rely on. I have a hard time trusting a card that dies to spark jolt lol

Yea also she isn't see often enough to rely on it, if I ran 4 of her then I think i could combo her with Prophet
But that's a different deck idea
Oh and incase i come acrossed fiend slayer paladians or pro multicolored I put in Rapid Hybridization

Ok, i have been testing a lot, and Fathom mage is a good card but I can't relay on it to draw cards. so I'm going to put my divination back in. Unless you have a bettercard

I like urban evolution, but lots of people disagree, that's just my preference. You don't need to refuel until turn 4-5 anyway.

Exactly I usually have 5 mana ready by turn 3 so 3 cards and an extra mana would be great, ill test it to see how it works first

Also i think Prophet would be amazing in a pure evolve deck combo her with fathom mage and bred for the hunt.
swing with small creatures then quickly evolve them as they block
then draw cards if any of your creatures got through

Hey I'm going to try alpha authority for hexproof on my hydras and other important creatures. Also I'm going to try a Primeval Bounty and a Death's presence instead of the vastwood hydra

Things like rangers guile and simic charm are actually better for hexproof. They can kill in response to alpha authority. And if authority does resolve, they keep their kill spells for your next threat. With instant speed hexproof you force them to waste a kill spell, you keep the element of surprise, and your dude survives. Quite honestly 5 charms (between simic and golgari) is enough protection I think.

ok how does that look, I like to be safe so i have an extra simic charm, or should i put in 1 korozda guildmage instead of the golgari charm?

0

Golgari charm is the best one in the format, definitely don't take it out.

ok going back down to 3 simic charms and putting one nylea, because against boros reckener tramaple is needed. also it is nice either way
