Deck Description

A casual Wall EDH deck that plays to the interaction of one-sided board wipes and Walls. In actuality you are a mill deck (Phenax) that can also win through wall beatdown (yes it really is a thing), Door to nothingness and Maze's End. Most of the cards played are rarely seen in EDH play and your best course of action is to be political and non-threatening . The desk is semi-budget and can be improved by improving the land base and the tutoring package. It is not a competitive deck in that it has no countering and little tutoring, no combos and only synergies, but can slip in an occasional win if ignored in the early and mid game.

How to Play

This deck is fun to play if you like politics and the long game. Most People will assume that you are trying to win through Maze's End, and try to make them think that is your only real win condition. Early game try to get as many lands into play followed by as many walls as you can, but holding a creature or two in reserve. Do not play Phenax, Doran, or a wall attack enchantment unless you have a decent board state. You want to stay under the radar as much as possible. If the play group has a lot of wheel spells going off play your threats as you get them. An early Amulet of Vigor really helps you setup. Phenax with four or five nice walls can mill out one opponent in 3-4 turns. Behind the Scenes makes your walls almost totally unblockable. And the boardwipes, Wave of Reckoning , Fell the Mighty and Retribution of the Meek, all one-sided in nature, also clear the path for beatdown. Sylvan Library and Abundance allows for land drops when you need them, or playable cards when you do not, with the added benefit of not taking damage from the Library. Valor Made Real with Cathedral Membrane is hilarious in stopping go-wide strategies if you can pull it off and Valor works with any creature to save you once. Hold the Gates and Crackling Perimeter make the Guildgates into more useful cards. Again let me state that this is a fun deck meant to win the long game. It can be improved by adding some reainimation, more interaction
(Cyclonic Rift, Vandalblast, etc.), good tutor cards and better dual lands. I hope you enjoy the concept and feel free to build upon it in any direction you desire. Never bang your head against a wall because they might bang back!!!!!!
