This deck is my attempt to play one of my pet combos from EDH in Modern. The combo is Krark-Clan Ironworks + Nim Deathmantle + Wurmcoil Engine/Myr Battlesphere. Once all the pieces are in play, sacrifice Wurmcoil Engine or Battlesphere to the Ironworks, then sacrifice the tokens they produce to pay for Nim Deathmantle's trigger. Since either creature and its tokens are worth more than 4 mana through Ironworks, each iteration can net one or more tokens. If Wurmcoil Engine is the third combo piece, it's important to remember to stack Wurmcoil Engine's trigger above Nim Deathmantle's when Wurmcoil Engine dies so that the Wurms will be available to sacrifice for mana. The backup plan is to simply use Tron lands, mana rocks, and Ironworks to ramp into a big robot and hope it's good enough.The Eggs package (Sphere, Star, Terrarion, Mind Stone, Wellspring) gives the deck access to colorless cantrips when digging for combo pieces and naturally synergizes with Ironworks to generate mana and/or cards when going off. Ancient Stirrings is a natural inclusion. It's excellent in this deck since the only card it can't hit is another Ancient Stirrings.The deck can also be built on a budget. By omitting Mox Opal for cheaper options (Talisman of Impulse, more lands, a 4th Terrarion/Deathmantle, etc.) and replacing Wurmcoil Engine with Precursor Golem, it can be put together for around $125.
