Deck Description

A work in progress on one of my favorite commanders. Deck is relatively straightforward; use the mana acceleration to get Omnath out Turn 4-5, create as many elemental tokens and blow them up or turn them sideways. Is much more consistent with the latest tweak and very easy to play.

How to Play

All the land, Cast Omnath, drop more land, blow up Elementals and win. :)

Deck discussion for Omnath and the Elementals

Chandra, Flamecaller's [+1] makes two 3/1 Elementals with haste. With Omnath out, if they don't block / kill the elementals, they take 6. If they do block / kill the elementals, they take 6 damage :P

While [[Zendikar's Roil]]'s ability isn't keyworded as "Landfall", it functions just like landfall. It also makes 2/2 elementals for every landfall trigger, which are often easier to kill and trigger Omnath.

Nissa, Vastwood Seer should be easy to transform into Nissa, Sage Animist, and once she's in planeswalker form, she provides decent pseudo draw with her [+1], makes a legendary 4/4 elemental with her [-2], and her [-7] turns 6 lands into 6/6 elementals.

Khalni Heart Expedition gives nice on demand landfall triggering.

I have had all of those in there and this list is just the most recent iteration and keeps it as straightforward as it can be with what I have. Chandra, Flamecaller is by far one of my favorite cards in red as it has so much use and will most likely find its way back into the deck.
The only reason Roil didn't make it back in was due to needing to speed up ramp and hitting more land drops. it does benefit from drops but it didn't help get Omnath out there. Khalni just never seemed to work well for me.

Nissa will also probably find her way back in if I do any major tweaking anytime soon. Thanks for the input!

Elemental Mastery could be fun. Ball Lightning comes to mind. Akoum Stonewaker and Young Pyromancer also make elemental tokens. Oh yes, and Hellspark Elemental. If I understand right, each time an elemental bites it, you get to do 3 commander damage. I would abuse the hell out of that. Parallel lives is brilliant. More fetchlands would be good if you can afford them. Anything to get more landfall, plus you can repay them with Crucible of Worlds out. You have 40 life to pay, may as well spend it.

Sadly, the damage dealt by Omnath on the death trigger isn't Commander damage as that only applies to combat damage only, otherwise, this would be a much higher tier deck. I've tried different combinations of the above cards you've mentioned and have thought about putting Young Pyromancer back in there. The others were just taking away from the more focused approach i wanted. I will probably dial it back some and increase other Elemental cards in the deck though and see how it does then. Thanks for the input.

Yeah no worries dude sorry to bark up the wrong tree. I've played a bit of commander but I had no idea that non-combat sources didn't contribute to commander damage. It would still count as damage, but it certainly isn't as economical.
