Saw a commander's quarters video where he made a 1$ commander deck- and thought I'd try the challenge with modern. No card is really over 2 cents at least at the time i added it to the list. So ALL ABOARD THE JANK TRAIN TO JANK TOWNBasic lands are not included in the pricing- and i used scryfall's lowest prices for the cards- (i might have messed up the editions when entering here- but I think I got the correct ones for the most part- the lands are skewing the price over a dollar here on the vault). I ended up with boros colors because I felt there was the most powerful cards I could use (and one of the only dual lands in this price range)- and thunderous orator seemed like a janky good time so the deck was mostly based around that. IS IT GOING TO COMPETE? Well the price of shipping is 4 times the cost of the deck. So probably not. Is it a start that one can optimize to get into the format? :PThunderous orator I dont really see being modern's next big staple. BUT IM ROOTING FOR ITIt's mostly an attempt to see how far i can stretch 1 dollar for an entire modern deck so the real question is.....IS IT A PILE OF CARDS MOST PEOPLE THROW AWAY THAT WE HAVE GRANTED LIFE TO? YESSSSSSS...YES IT ISWILL I MAKE A NON-BUDGET VERSION OF THIS DECK? IDK MAAYYBBEEE IF IM BORED(not playtested yet btw- ill probably buy the deck at some point though when i attempt to put together my next..."real" deck cuz why not?)
the deck is mostly based around thunderous orator- so the idea is to play other creatures- buff or give the OTHER creatures abilities that orator can then siphon off of. I did my best to throw in useable removal and recursive/die trigger abilities as the nature of the deck makes it pretty fragile. sideboard is mostly different kinds of removal- not a lot of fancy answers to things at this price- but hey revoke existence deals with heliod?- wing shards can maybe take care of some prowess nonsense? If you got more ideas, let me know!

Unfortunately very true! I fear MH2 isn't really going to bring the prices down for fetches too much either (i hope im wrong though)
I think that the MH2 fetches will be more expensive then the current fetches.
o yeah for sure- the old border ones are HOTTTTT.
There has been super collector reprints before.It's some years ago, but the price of those reprints exploded because of the art AND layout of those, so alfred may very well be right.Take a look at wooded Foothills, there are 5 variants and the mythic reprint is most expensive.
they're going to be reprinted at rare for mh2, but yeah im sure the alt arts are going to be pricey. i just hope at least one of the variants would go down- but at the price the boxes are looking to be going at- i'm not sure anymore.
