How to Play

Draw cards, make bugs, the bugs trigger enchantments, enchantments do stuff, then you attack with the bugs cause they have haste. The bugs kill people.

More specifically, there are several wincons that overlap, though all rely on your general. Luckily, locust gods ability to return to your hand when he dies means he wont be getting too hard to cast if he gets focused down. Mana echoes is a key condition for this deck, so try to keep that safe with your limited control capacity if you get it it out. If you have well of knowledge or diviners wand up, mana echoes can quickly cascade out of control into a massive x spell to win the game.

If you cant get a huge amount of insects up, rune chanters pike on locust god gives you a serious threat, since with 30+ instants and sorceries in the deck, even having a third of them hit the grave makes locust god a 14/4 first strike flyer.

If you can't get that huge x spell to go off, you still have a LOT of bugs, so things like into the web of war, impact tremors, pandemonium, coat of arms, etc make your bugs a big threat.

If the game stalls out, teleportal and dragonshift should be nice surprises to overload and break through.

You're obviously strongest against decks without blue, since your big combo fireballs can't be stopped nearly as easily by those decks, but a hard control deck is going to struggle against your ability to swarm if you can cheese your general out. Anything that can lock locust god down somehow is a big problem, and you struggle against artifacts and ESPECIALLY enchantments, since your colors just don't lend to them. Hour of devastation and cyclonic rift constitute your entire capacity to wipe the board, so don't be too carefree with them. You're strong against decks with few flyers, since everything in your deck can take to the skies.

It should be pretty easy to stay alive early, you have 2 howling mine effects and you won't seem like a threat with your lack of creatures and limited interaction until you start your combo. You're better off making one overwhelming sneak attack using your haste, so don't attack someone unless youre confident you can finish them, or better yet, end the entire game. You aren't trying to slug it out, you just wanna get one or two overwhelming turns.
