Deck Description

This is my first deck on MTG Vault. It's a blue/artifact, infect, proliferate deck. I am having troubles deciding where to shave off the extra 11 cards in the deck. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

It seems like running blue, infect, and proliferate at the same time might be a little too much going on. Not sure yet.

Deck discussion for Art/U - Infect/Proliferate

I'd drop everything you only have 1 of in the deck. A 1/60 chance to pull it on each draw isn't terrific odds. It wont make as large an impact on how your deck operates. I would also lose the Contagion Clasp in favor of two more Contagion Engines. I also feel like Tezzeret's Gambit and Steady Progress might be over reaching a bit. Jar of Eyeballs would fit nicely if you want to draw. The Blighted Agent and Master Transmuter are nice, but I'm not sure they fit either. If you don't mind tampering with your mana fixing, Corpsejack Menace could really get your creatures beefy fast. I like this deck. With a little work, I think it could be very solid. I might load this up in Lackey and tamper with it a bit myself. I'll share my results if you'd like.

Thanks for the advice, Tazenda. I liked Tezzeret's Gambit and Steady progress because they were my draw engines and they proliferated as well. Although I see how they were taking up a fair bit of room on the deck. After removing all of your suggestions it brought the deck to exactly 60 cards. This is good.

Jar of Eyeballs is a solid draw card that would obviously benefit from proliferation. I will consider a way to work it in here.

I like the Blighted Agent because of it's low cost, unblockable ability, and it's blue, quickest way to get a poison counter on my opponent and start proliferating it. Plus additional poison counters from it attacking every turn.

The Master Transmuter was originally designed to help drop the high cost cards in my deck on turn 4. Specifically Darksteel Forge and Eternity Vessel, both of which have been removed since I only had 1 copy of each.

Corpsejack Menace would be great, but then I have to splash Green and Black, and I really would rather not. Perhaps a Steel Overseer would be a good alternative? Thoughts?

And yes, please share your results, they would be greatly appreciated!

I have my own infect deck (you can check it out) but i kept it black and green. A good addition to the infect would be Grafted Exoskeleton. and if you don't mind adding black mana there are also Glistening Oil and Phyresis. Also a combo I used on a friend once was Stuffy Doll, Grafted Exoskeleton, and Tower of Calamities. I equipped Grafted Exoskeleton onto Stuffy Doll and then targeted it with Tower of Calamities, dealing twelve poison counters in one go. Hope that helps.

Yes, Black is strong Infect, Blue is strong Proliferate, and Artifacts are strong Counters. I just don't think I can justify running 3 colours in this deck. I will consider the cards you mentioned though. Thank-you.

yea i actually came up with that on the spot during a game. i was kinda close to losing and twelve normal damage wasn't really doing any good.

Today I was playing my burn deck against a friend and found that Imprinting a Searing Spear on a Panoptic Mirror and having a Bone Sphinx Wand out made for some deadly damage. Sometimes the best combos are right in front of you and you don't even know it until it happens.

No I didn't, haha. Then cast the spell that has cipher every turn and Cipher onto a creature you have on the battlefield? That could be fun.

yea, you could cipher every creature you have then cipher the tokens. and if you used Midnight Recovery (return target creature card from your graveyard to your hand - Cipher) a non-token creature dies, bring it back and cipher it. but unless they can gain ALOT of life every turn, it will be over quick

If you're running Blue, Inexorable Tide. Inexorable Tide HARD. I also see 0 reason for Artifact buff when you have Blighted Agent. If you're gonna proliferate, try 4x Necropede and 4x Core Prowler. Also take a look at Ichorclaw Myr, Phyrexian Juggernaut, Plague Myr, and of course Blightsteel Colossus

I had Inexorable tide in it when I first drafted it. I think you're right that it needs to be in here. I will consider the other cards you mentioned as well. Thanks!
