Deck Description

Sigarda as general, hmmm.

How to Play

This is an aggro-ish EDH built around Sigarda, Host of Herons. The purpose of this deck is to deal 21 general damage to the opponent asap while protecting Sigarda.

I modified his deck to have a little bit more draw and consistency while sacrificing a bit of early aggression. Combo in this deck.. What combo? You just turn your general sideway and win!(I wish it was that easy)

Advice and criticism appreciated.

I've been trying to think of an effective way to use Sigarda, and this deck is definitely one of them.

The price tag however...

Its kay bro, build it without the expensive lands and eldrazi and you should cut it down to 300.

No Savannah?

Indestructibility is bad. Austere Command will still kill Sigarda with that in play. Perhaps Ghostway or Flickerform... They will protect her from exile/tuck effects as well.

There's only ~7 targets for Green Sun's Zenith and none of them are really that interesting... Is it really worth the spot when Woodfall or EWitness are the only worthwhile targets in the deck?

With only 8 plains in the deck total, is it really worth including Emeria?

Do you think there would be better creatures to include? Or draw spells?

dur i don't have savannah on this list is because i don't have it. Poor bastard i am :/

About Emeria, even though it looks like it doesn't have enough plains to support it, but by choosing plain whenever i can ramp, Emeria always comes online when i needed it.(In my playtest) But i will proably get the savannah, after i get a new laptop >.>

And regrding ghostway, I originally had it in the deck, but it always underperforms since Sigarda doesn't have a etb effect, but i might try it out again

About Green Sun, I think its just too good a card for me to pass, I mean a tutor is a tutor. I know it kinda sucks now without its buddy primeval, but I still think its an excellent card that adds stability&consistency to this dek. Perhaps I'll squeeze an acidic in there to take advantage of green sun more.

The price of this deck looks high, but notice most of the cards are from recent standard format ( Scars of mirrodin). And it doesnt need all the lands it have to be successful since its just straight beatdown, even though the utility lands adds some dimension to this list.

Was worth asking... $900 deck usually suggests the player has the budget for a dual land. I'm seeing several cards that are before modern going back as far as Ice Age or maybe further but it's totally understandable. Most my EDH decks are $1-300 so it's all good.

The new Sylvan Primordial would be a good (albeit expensive) target for Green Sun as well but Acidic definitely belongs here.

Perhaps the white auras that grant double strike or protection from creatures. Things like Eldrazi Conscription are good but they still put you on a two turn clock for 8 mana when you could give her double strike for 3(?) mana and then a random buff puts them on a two turn clock still. The Paladin already grants double strike but a little redundancy doesn't hurt.

As a side note, I believe my Ob Nixilis deck could kill this (per your deck title) or at least hit you for 21 general first. Still looks like a strong deck though.

The most expensive card i bought for this was flooded strand at $25 :/
The eldrazi conscription is there so that when my academy rector dies i can have some big enchant to play with.( damn deck why you not blue so i can play omniscience)
I agree with the double strike, since it adds alot of reach and makes sigarda kill that much faster.
Oh and i forgot to mention it in your ob nixilis deck, maybe add a damnation to it so you have some board reset.

So then that begs the question, why is it in your deck? With no "good" targets it's just a good stuff inclusion. You could use something like Quest for the Holy Relic and then fetch something more useful directly onto Sigarda at instant speed for a kill out of nowhere (fireshrieker or something with one of the swords already on her?). You might not have enough creatures for that though...

There's like seven board wipes in that deck already and most of them will more or less wipe the board without killing my general and will also get around indestructible which is why they were chosen. Not to mention all the spot removal or other creature control options like Tainted Aether. Creatures aren't usually a problem for me. Mine would definitely be a problem for you. Gave an example in the reply on that deck though. ;)
