Deck Description

Wanted to use and abuse Primeval Bounty. That's all this was supposed to be. But it quickly evolved into something else.

Well, see for yourself.

How to Play

I started thinking straight ramp into Bounty, then profit, but then I ended up drifting into including Unexpected Results and things went from there. Green still ramps like crazy with all the Elf druids, and blue keeps your hand stocked with Think Twice, Urban Evolution, Zameck Guildmage and others.

So we can speed things up with ramp/draw or with Unexpected Results...but what big cards are we trying to get to? Well, Bounty is still the great target I envisioned, as you should be able to play multiple spells, creatures, and or lands (and reap several benefits) each turn. You can also ramp into Craterhoof Behemoth and close things out with your hordes of suddenly-massive Elves...lots of people seem to be going that route lately. Or tap into some Enter the Infinite fun and games.

The sideboard offers a bit of an alternate strategy with a playset of Experiment Ones and Cloudfin Raptors...you can pull them in and go the straight swarm-into-Behemoth route if that's working out better against certain opponents. The Garruks can be brought in for additional creatures, draw, and/or ramp as needed.

What do you think? My fear is this may be getting a tad watered down (see what I did there? :-P) by introducing blue, and that I should perhaps just go with straight mono-green ramp into Bounty and Behemoths, but the potential with drawing and Unexpected Result-ing was too hard to resist.

Deck discussion for Unexpected Bounty (feedback?)

expect the unexpected, your gonna need a removal spell or your going to suffer. you have great ramp, so i feel like this is just redundent, i mean when you have enough mana to cast Omniscience, how many cards will be sitting in your hand? get rid of it, use bramble, that way you have some kind of removal. you don't know where the threat will come from but a planeswalker or a new creature in another set could easily stomp around if unchecked.

Good thought. I supposed with all the ramp, Omniscience isn't really going to do much for me, you're right. Dropped it in favor of a couple expensive (but who cares with all this ramp!) but flexible Bramblecrush and Rapid Hybridization. Thanks!

no problem, i mean you can use a hydra to pour mana in, that way you have a good beginning or late game creature.

Yeah, Primordial would be nice.... I'll seriously consider that. Thanks again!

I like it with blue alot. Getting two bounty triggers from unexpected results is great. A card that I thought of as soon as I saw bounty was master biomancer. Noncreature spells make him bigger, and then when you cast creatures your beasts will be at least 5/5s, more then likely 8/8s. It might be a bit "win more", but you should test it out. :)

I love Biomancer and still completely overlooked him in this build. I'll play around and see how he works out...if it's as I expect, I'll have to try and make room for him.

If you don't know what to take out, I'd honestly suggest a few mana elves. Yes, ramp is essential in this build, but 18 ramp spells (23 if you count urban evolution and unexpected results) seems a bit much.

Alright, I dropped 2 mana dorks for 2 Biomancers. Might have to adjust those ratios with playtesting, but that's probably a good balance to start with. Also helps make the Guildmage more relevant, which makes me happy.

Thanks!

lol kinda funny, but you have 61 cards, and 3 Think Twice
drop one of those think twice, and you can draw a card for free if you catch my drift :)

Heh, 61 cards ia kind of my thing. Can't remember the last time I made a deck with only 60 cards. Yeah, I'm weird. I'll consider that, though. You make a very valid point. :-)

im the same way. i do 63, but because of it, you lose the need for draw cards. not tooooo savy on standard to find if there are any fillers, or fetch lands.

Hey, just wanted to let you know I loved the use of bounty and unexpected results so much that I incorporated them into my own deck. It looks a lot like yours.....lol. here's the deck
