Deck Description

This deck is sort of a combination of a necroskitter build + a Kamigowa Snake build. The idea for it started when I saw Hapatra, Visir of Poisons Come out in Amonkhet. I had wanted to try to build in Toshiro and Tetsuo Umezawa along with the Jitte into the deck for storyline purposes but there just wasn't room and they didn't fit the theme well enough but I stuck them in the sideboard for fun. I put Demonic tutor in there as well but it reality I use demonic not diabolic in the deck.

How to Play

Build your board a little bit with Melira, Hapatra, Necroskitter, maybe a few deathtouch creatures to ward off an early attack, then drop Black Sun Zenith [BSZ]. All things being perfect you'll wipe your opponents field, steal there stuff, and go for the win next turn. Even if you don't get this big clunky combo off partial combo's are still pretty effective with this ( Necrokitter + BSZ; Hapatra + BSZ) and will still get you a pretty good field. The Kamigowa crew are there to support your snakes and add some mid level muscle to your board. Win Con's are Triumph of the Hordes, Door of Destinies (preferably prior to casting Black Sun) .

The door of destinies does not work with any snake tokens, it is is casting, so black sun's zenith and hapatra dont work, nor does orochi hatchery

Fergfist is correct about the triggers, may I suggest Coat of Arms instead. Also, Lotus Cobra and Sakura-Tribe Elder would be an excellent choice being snakes and great for mana ramp to pull the combo off sooner.

Exactly, I would run coat of arms even if you keep the door, it is a must have in every tribal deck even if it also benefits your opponent. It will almost always help you more than the opponent.

I totally just wrote a long reply and somehow it didn't post. The code on this site is frustrating sometimes. So I see what you all are saying about Door of destinies. I actually use Coat in almost all my tribal builds and i wanted to go for something different here. i see what you are saying about the token gen not interacting with door, but the other creatures like blight mamba, ambush viper, etc should so it will still (kind of ) work. What door you think about Konda's Banner as an alternative? One thing I was hoping door would do, that konda's would do as well, and coat doesn't is build the tokens up in strength earlier for a better mid game and potentially an earlier win. I have several tribal builds (Goblins, Fairy, Elves, Human Warriors) and I've found playing them over time that I seem to do better getting 5-6 tokens that are mildly buffed and getting aggressive early v.s. trying to build up and army and swing for the big win. At least in my play group, there are a lot of players running board wipe and bounce like cyclonic rift so the longer i leave my tokens exposed the higher the odds of them pulling off a wipe. Anyway, rambling thoughts- i'll tweak (the deck) , thanks for the input!

I ended up deciding on Creakwood Liege for my pump . I've played with several of the options and that seems to be the best option for the deck. Konda's was too limited with only being able to attach to Legendary, Door of Destinies too slow. Creakwood gives a good pump, happens immediately, and doesn't help my opponent. Right now I am debating on Kashi Tribe elite v.s champion of Lambhalt. Kashi has the pro of being a snake and fitting the deck theme, but I have to think Champion is flat out a better card. Any thoughts welcome-
