How to Play

Pretty straight forward deck. Wheel a lot, draw a lot of cards, create a lot of tokens and activate psychosis crawler, Purphoros, impact tremors, and Niv-Mizzet.

Deck discussion for Swarm of Locusts

I have a locust god deck https://www.mtgvault.com/howlingpantera/decks/the-locust-god/ Myself. You should consider mana echoes

I’ll take a look. How does mine look, by the way? I’m the only one that runs him in my group, and I finished it last night.

You run a very different take than i do. I only run 3 creatures lol. But yours is a solid draw deck, its similar to a ton of good niv mizzet decks.

I think I’m going to add Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain in replace if Jin-Giraxias, Chandra, the Flamecaller instead of Kindred Summons, and Jhoira’s familiar instead of magnifying glass. I also want one more wheel. Any suggestions?

Hmmm Not a wheel, but you could use Invoke the firemind, distant melody is a good idea too

Also, kindred discoveries is a self kill.

I used to have laboratory maniac. It became an instant win.

Is there a cheap way to speed up the deck? It isn’t fast enough for survival.

Other than mana echoes or more artifacts...

I also run a Locust God EDH deck, https://www.mtgvault.com/kyletwining/decks/locust-god-edh/ pretty similar to yours. One thing I would say is that I originally had a bunch of wheel effects, thinking to myself that the draw would be worth it for LG's trigger, not the case. I found myself NEVER using my wheel cards because there were other cards already in my hand that I was unwilling to lose.
I would also suggest lowering your mana curve as much as possible. As long as you have enough mana to get LG on the battlefield and protect him with something like Greaves or Boots, you can use lower cost cards for draw effects to create your tokens I.e ponder, serum visions, preordain, faithless looting ETC. I would drop the cards like Blue Sun and Pull from tomorrow. If you play Mystical Tutor I would only keep one BIG DRAW card. Don't wanna deck yourself.

I would also be careful about how much card draw you allow others to have. I run Dictate of Kruphix as well but I see you have several cards that allow your opponents to draw. Locust God thrives on card draw but remember that MOST decks in EDH thrive on card draw. If you are playing group hug type effects in EDH, I think youre risking to much, way to many infinite combos out there to be giving out free card draw.
