The first thing you should do is decide a format, or if there will be no format. Your title says standard, your format says Moder, and you have cards that are legal in neither

Fair point...probably won't have a format.

I'm trying to see how best to make this deck...aggro is best for elves.

You have 2 main ways to win with elves, and a few unconventional combos. Number one being just a lot of elves and as many lords as possible (possibly with shaman of the pack kinds of things), the second is to ramp up to a win con, which in this case is craterhoof, but could be a sole wincon like Emrakul. Point being if you don't want to do aggro then you don't have to.

I love aggro elves! I've had elf decks in the past, and usually as mono green...I go for straight getting as many lords as possible/getting as many elves as possible on the field. I.E. using ambush commander, defiant elf, heedless one, taunting elf, timberwatch elf, wellwisher, etc. I thought that by adding shaman of the pack, and other cards...it gives it more of an upgrade.

If you're going for aggro elves timberwatch elf, usually can win the turn after it comes down

I know timberwatch....love it. Would it be better to run that over craterhoof? I know it is a lot less mana, but craterhoof is awesome lol.

I have no idea for this deck, as they each have their ups and downs. They will kill at around the same turn, the difference is craterhoof is a etb ability meaning hen you play it you win, but in this deck you will need archdruid to play it before you run out of steam.

And I'm not worried about not being able to cast craterhoof with archdruid out. Plus llanowar, there is enough mana ramp. I like craterhoof better.

I forgot about Tyvar's static so it's ok, but llanowar alone isn't enough ramp to play an 8 mana spell.

It isn't enough with llanowar and tyvar, but with elvish archdruid...it should be good
