I like pairing trepanation blade with Drana's emissary. I know it's not the most effective but it's so satisfying to see it grow bigger than it was. Plus if your opponant doesn't pay attention they'll block with a lower card while yours gets bigger. I like to save my life gain cards till I have defiant blood lord on the field.
