Doubling up on the massive damage spells for more damage to smitemare, Boros Reckoner, stuffy doll, and mogg maniac. Since I won't have as much mana for the X spells to make them overwhelming.
But how do you get the counters on the Ascension?
big decks don't usually work, unless its got lots o dredge (golgari). try making it smaller ;)ps u have a game winning combo: pariah/pariah's shield+tajic
