Deck Description

Putting this up mostly to remind myself to play with the build, but comments and crits are welcome. :)

A version/attempt at mono-green stompiness. I used to run one a few sets back and I'm start to miss the simple fun of running over and stomping your opponents flat. LOL

8/20/12 EDITS: -4 Garruk's Companion, +4 Primordial Hydra

Also, post rotation (as of right now)
-4 Llanowar Elves, +4 Arbor Elves
-2 Rampant Growth, +2 Somberwald Sage
-2 Rampant Growth, +2 Ulvenwald Tracker
-3 Dungrove Elder, +2 Champion of Lambholt, +1 Predator Ooze

I'm think I need Wolvir Silverheart, too, but All I can think of to replace of Yeva and I REALLY want to play with her. >.<

Deck discussion for Everyone's Doing It (Standard mono-G)

Gotta love good ol' stompy decks. Primordial hydra might do nicely in here. Potentially starting off really early and being really good in late game just makes for a really fun card. :)

I'm iffy on the worth of the Hydra, although you're right about late game. I've been so concerned about out-running control, I may have forgotten that I NEED a late game. Hmm...

Maybe think about running ranger's path to get the two forests out for two more mana. It costs more but maybe trade 1 rampant growth and a garruk's companion for 2 of ranger's path. then again most of your cards are meant for quick speed. Primordial hydra takes a while to build up but it is a great addition

I play Skyshroud Claim in my mono-green casual/Legacy deck, so I have a tendency to look at Ranger's Path and go "eew, a bad Claim". It's really a cross between Claim and Explosive Vegetation, the combination actually making Path slightly worse than either, but there you go. My mini-rant on that.

In a less biased sense, I could run it for the ramp. My only other 4 drop is Yeva, it wouldn't be a stretch to run a couple more. My only concerns right now are: speed and (now that I think about it) a mana-sink. I'm not really ramping INTO anything. The only thing that really benefits from having a lot of land out are the Elders. The Primordial Hydra that you both suggested might be a good filler for that. Had him in a draft and man that he get big. XD Plus, he holds up well against Mutilate and BSZ since those just eliminate a few counter.

Hmm......

If you could afford Primordial Hydra, that would be good. I've observed that most of your heavy creatures are around 5 CMC. But the whole deck itself is pretty good. Stompy + Undying is just so annoying isn't? One nice deck again here Mercedes!

Undying is just... gah, love abusing it. Played Undying/Birthing Pod at one point and, man, was that a blast. XD

Making a few changes now, I'm succumbing to the pressure. :) Thanks for all the comments on my decks!
