Deck Description

I adopted and revised joelfg's "Zombie Overlords" deck (since his focus is on other decks). Inspired by AbsoluteShadow's Standard Zombie deck.

3/5: -Skinrender, Cemetary Reaper, Grave Titan, Grimgrin, Endless Ranks, and Dismember. BSZ and Drownyard moved to the sideboard.

I'll miss you, Skinrender. TT_TT

The deck below is nearly identical to the Top 8 Baltimore deck I mentioned, with the exception of the land and running Mikaeus instead of Phyrexian Obliterator, mostly because I don't have any, but also because I like Mikaeus.

Sideboard is customized to deal with my store's meta. IE, a LOT of token decks. Although, I WISH I had the SoWP to put in there.

2/27: Will be revised by this Friday because a B/U zombie deck made it to Top 8 at PT Baltimore this past weekend. :D

Could be made loads better is I was able to get a hold of 2 more Drowned Catacombs and another Darkslick Shores or two (one is on loan). Also, after talking with joelfg, the Cemetery Reaper's are slated for removal. This deck is showing itself to not be very lenient when it comes to mana and I rarely have 3 mana open on the hopes that I need to stop an Undying creature from returning. >.<

well i think i should take out the Diregraf Ghoul cuz you have the Gravecrawler and maybe use the Skaab Ruinator (i know it cost more mana but its very good), also i like the gravecrawler, Grimgrin, Corpse-Born and Diregraf Captain combo. a card that works good with Endless Ranks of the Dead is Army of the Damned, in two turns you could have 19 zombies in the battlefield and always rising, that would help with the skaab ruinator, you can exile creatures that die cuz you will have an army of zombie tokens. well thats just my opinion i'm no expert. hope you dont mind =) cheers

Taking out the Ghoul would leave me with no early blockers since Gravecrawler can't block and nothing else hits before turn 3. Against any white red deck, turns 1 and 2 are very important. Hell, I'm probably going to thrown Mental Mistep in against Champion of the Parish/Stromkirk Noble/all those other insane 1cc's.

Ruinator is... chancy. It's true, he's scary if he hits the field, but if I have two creatures in the graveyard by turn three and neither of them are Gravecrawlers, then something very strange is going on. O.o Personally, I'd rather have him in a Pod or Heartless deck than Zombies. XD

The deck had an Army in there, but I took it out because not many games are lasting to turn 7 or longer in my meta. I might put it back in, though... Dunno, I like the card, but 7-9 mana doesn't come fast in this deck. XD maybe I ought to add Expenses/Wilds?

well i think you right and i see the point of the Ghoul i was about to suggesting the Festering Goblin but the ghoul is probably better. yes the ruinator takes a little longer to enter i just put it there cuz is a good card later in the game too.
yes the army comes late if you want the deck fast is probably batter to leave it out, or put on the side board.
well as i said i'm no expert lol but hope that help

I WISH Festering Goblin were still in standard. @.@ I had Sac-Kill Golgari deck with him and Nantuko Husk back in Ravnica that I loved to pieces. Might have to rebuild something like it for nostalgia's sake. No set has been as much fun as Ravnica was, IMO.

I'm really not good with Zombies. I think the last zombie deck I made was in Onslaught. And Yes, I also loved Festering Goblin so much.
I checked the whole deck list and I could really say that this deck is well-made!
Good job Mercedes!

I used to run Uncle Fester there with Nantuko Husk in a Golgari deck during the first Ravnica block. Oh, how I miss that deck...
