Idea:I wanted to create a rather fast deck that focuses on auras/ enchantments and fast (possible hexproof) creatures. I already had my G/W pauper enchantment deck (http://www.mtgvault.com/muktol/decks/gw-pauper-enchantment/), which is more ore less standard enchantments so this time I wanted to try another color combination. After discovering "Edge of the Divinity" the decision was made rather quick to go for B/W. Building it:"Nip Gwyllion" seemed to be a perfect start: Cheap, fast and lifelink. "Mourning Thrull" was a little slower but had evasion and also lifelink. "Nightsky Mimic" could be the strongest creatures here though it required black and white spells to be cast. "Ethereal Armor" and "Hyena Umbra" where a pretty obvious choice as enchantments, "Edge of the Divinity" would provide cheap, raw, power. "Skeletal Grimace" and "Necromancer's Magemark" where added against removal heavier decks. "Phyresis" and "Dark Favor" finished the enchantment-side.I was looking for a fourth creature to increase the number of creatures I had a little bit. I decided against "Tithe Drinker" and instead used "Kingpin's Pet" as evasion is always a good thing and I already had 8 creatures in the cc2 slot. Cardpool:Like many players I first looked into magic with Eight Edition/ Mirrodin tough I didn't start to seriously play and collect until Innistrad. My cardpool is limited and ,though I did discover many new cards from blocks I didn't even know, my focus lies on modern legality. Thus modern-legal cards only where used to build this deck, though it doesn't mean I'm not open to other suggestions.Ban-list:For our local playgroup we decided to use the pauper ban-list and each card that is available as common in a modern-legal pauper deck. For example the Mirrodin artefact lands are legal while Rancor and Cranial Plating aren't.Tests:This deck exists only on this site and has never been played against another deck (I did some quick mirror-matches on the computer). Regardless I'm open to all suggestions and ideas that may help to improve this deck.
"Edge of the Divinity" gives each of your creatures +3/+3 for cc1 and "Ethereal Armor" enhances this further. "Ethereal Armor" and "Hyena Umbra" also increase combat survivability by giving the enchanted creature first strike. "Necromancer's Magemark" and especial "Hyena Umbra" and "Skeletal Grimace" should be the enchantments of choice if your opponent plays a lot of removal.
