Deck Description

Passive Curse deck, relying on creature removals and stalling opponent's creatures for time before laying down the Curses.

Comments are definitely welcome on improving this deck.
It's technically still a concept but I'd really love to see it work, and it came about after I flipped through all the cards I have just from opening boosters thus far.

Update 25 Mar 2012:

Thanks to Mr Sorin, Lord of Innistrad, the price for Isolated Chapel's quite high. Else I could have kept it as a budget Curse deck D:

Suggested sideboard options:
- Swap in 1 or 2 Black Sun's Zenith to replace Blasphemous Act and/or Whipflare if opponent has creatures that just don't die from damage.

- Throw in Norn's Annex to replace a Wrack with Madness if opponent has speed token generation. 4 life to pay for 2 Phyrexian whites should be easily gained again. Use Whipflare to hold them off, then drop a Norn's Annex, and probably a Sudden Disappearance later if opponent's playing token-generation.

- Stensia Bloodhall, Incinerate, and Shock take the place of Whipflare, Tragic Slip, Sorin's Thirst, etc. if faced with a creatureless opponent.

- Rebuke as an alternative to Wrack with Madness just in case opponent has some weird 10/11 creature that just won't go mad on itself.

- Circle of Flame can be considered as a replacement for Wrack with Madness when dealing with fast wheenies

Update 26 Mar 2012:
- Removed Sorin's Thirst in favour of Incinerate (Sorin's Thirst has 2 color specific, while Incinerate has only 1 color specific required making it more likely to be usable)

Update 27 Mar 2012
- I have no idea how Gather the Townfolk sneaked into the deck. It was fun last night against an RDW though, having 10 1/1 critters then bumping myself up by 14 again with 2 Elixirs. Might consider swapping Gather the Townfolk for Circle of Flame instead.

Deck discussion for Passive Curse

I like this so far, from a quick glance-over. Awesome concept :D
I'll think of suggestions later on today when I get home. :)

This is a nice take on the concept. Take a look at my red/black curse deck when you have a second: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=295584 - I run four Circle of Flame and a lot of removal to deal with fliers (like Delver). Board wipes, such as Black Sun, don't like token generators, but I guess by the time you'd use it you're already putting curses on the board. Still, I like the synergy of Circle of Flame and Curse of Death's Hold. If you manage to get two of each out most meat bags can't swing at you.
