this is a starter Talrand deck for me. I made this deck using the regular commander multiplayer Banned EDH List (since that is the list my local gamins store uses for their 1v1 EDH events) i know there are a lot better cards i can add in here, but sadly money restrictions are determining my limits at the moment, if anyone has any good suggestions on upgrades or must haves for this deck that are between $1 - $2 or less, please feel free to let me know. i am interested in all thoughts and feed back, thank you :)
it's pretty straight forward, use Talrand to make drakes, attack with Drakes, block with drakes, etc. as a backup for just in case people keep taking out or counterspelling , exiling, etc my commander, i put in Docent of Perfection. Stormtide Leviathan,Tidespout Tyrant , and Guile are just really fin for me to have in there.. and depending on the situation can be pretty useful. Proteus Staff is great to use with talrand or the tokens to put your deck in an order that you want, as well as cheat your creatures out onto the field. Isochron Scepter is just a no brainer.. use it with any of the instnaces or Sorceries to add more drakes as well as whatever the card says. Ex: if you have Index + Isochron Scepter = every turn you get to Look at the top five cards of your library, then put them back in any order and get a drake. Merchant Scroll + Isochron Scepter = every turn you get to Search your library for a blue instant card, reveal that card, and put it into your hand. Then shuffle your library and get a drake, same for counterspell, etc etc etc. Confiscate & Dream Leash because.. what's more fun than taking someones commander or a card that is really hurting you and helping your opponent and watching their face just have this " what the heck??!?" expression.
