Deck Description

Fliers, ah, the most common of unblockables! One of the first keywords any Magic-player learns is likely Flying. It is understandable too: it has been around since Alpha!

I mostly use MTG Vault for my own private projects nowadays, but feel free to comment or request a deck of your choice. I've loved the Vault so far, and I like that they are still improving on it, as well as I am improving on my English language skills.

So, if you like what you see, consider checking out some of my other budget-y work from the link below.

How to Play

This deck attempts to take all out of handy flying creatures. Drop some early on, then keep pestering your opponent with constant damage until they have no choice but to start playing defensively. In those occasions, a couple of "aces in the sleeve" will help you to end the game in your favor.

Healer's Hawk is a very powerful early game beater. With only a one or two buffs from cards like Favorable Winds or Empyrean Eagle, the Hawk soon will lay down some annoying damage every single turn, while gaining you some life in the process! Even creatures like Ornithopter can be useful as an early game creature with these snappy buffs.

If the game starts to drag on, just calm down and start counting your options: If given time, cards like Skycat Sovereign, Stormtide Leviathan or Field of Souls will surely win you the game. The Sovereign keeps spamming more fliers if you lack the necessary hand cards to proceed, Stormtide Leviathan makes it nearly impossible to attack you, and the Field provides you with more fliers for each one slain. Each of these can easily turn the tables in a stalemate-situation.

If you feel like something is missing, check out the sideboard. Cloudblazer is yet another slower card that still provides you with some serious advantage. Jubilant Skybonder works well against burn decks or control decks with lots of removal. Aetherize hoses down the most aggressive opponents. Dismantling Blow is a late-game artifact/enchantment breaker plus card advantage provider. Rally of Wings can be used either offensively or defensively.

Deck discussion for BD: Take to the Skies

Looks good :)
I also like how your deck description has evolved.
Short intro, short "trademark" and short selfrefference.
It's become sleek and elegant :)

I'm experimenting a lot with my own setup, which may end up confusing people.
I have had thoughts about putting the selfrefferences at the bottom of the descriptions, because if they look at it to start with and then read through the how to play, they might forget about the link.

If they read through the gameplay they like it enough to continue reading, and then a link would maybe get them curious enough to go for the link. At least that's my theory :)

And the headline BD: is also nice and adds to the odds of being searched for.

I'm glad you like the "formal look" on my decks. The descriptions etc. sure have evolved over the years.

It's really has a good feel to it :)
When I finish experimenting with my own outlooks I might give you a heads up on what works.
One thing that is paying of at the moment is having my "frontpage"
Some of my decks refer to it, and I can see from the likes that I get, that people are using it to see what else I got.
It's been a long time since I've updated it, so older posts are being brought to the light at a higher rate.
(At the moment I get about 5 extra messages a day than I've gotten for years)

The way you found to link all of your budget sort of has the same effect I think.
You could have a link reference to each of your major tag-types.

I might also take a closer look at your older "formals"
I'll let you know what I discover.
