Deck Description

Whoops, it sure has been a while since I've been here. Time sure flies by unnoticed, am I right?

In the world where Magic: The Gathering cards grow more expensive by the day, it gets harder and harder to play while staying on a small scale budget. One of the most expensive archetypes ever has been a tech known as the Reanimator, since the strategy has always been strong, and thus the cards have been expensive. Here we attempt to craft a simple reanimator, while staying as budget as possible!

I mostly use MTG Vault for my own private projects nowadays, but feel free to comment or request a deck of your choice. I've loved the Vault so far, and I like that they are still improving on it, as well as I am improving on my English language skills.

How to Play

Firja is a girl that gets ignored by many: her abilities are weird considering her colors, and thus it is easy to see her as an unusable piece of trash. On the bright side, she is very cheap, and can be used to fill up both your hand and graveyard, at least to some extent.

This deck's strategy is very simple: chuck dudes to the 'yard, grab them back, then try holding on to them. A few cards here and there help you achieve these goals:
- Firja, as well as cards like Mire Triton, Millikin, Funeral Rites and Codex Shredder, can all help you fill out your graveyard. Try to get one or two of your big guys down there, so you can grab them not long after!
- Use cards like Apprentice Necromancer, Bond of Revival, Ever After, Resurrection, Unburial Rites and Fated Return to bring those bad boys back!
- Once you have your stage set, maintain your board with cards like Feign Death and Supernatural Stamina, while removing opposing threats with cards like Fracture and Mortify. Easy and simple, right?

Deck discussion for BEDH: Budget Judged

Most EDH I've seen run 36 lands, so I think you should test extensively for scenarios where you don't get to revive anything.
That means you will have to both stay alive and get the mana to hardcast your big creatures.

Most reanimator designs has this fallacy, but I have experienced designs that could actually be played in that direction, though they are really really rare.

But if you can see any way of developing your deck in that direction it will often be a shock to the opponent.

Thanks for the feedback, Dark!

As for myself, I've almost always found 38 the "holy golden number" of lands in any given EDH deck. If a deck is exceptionally ramp-heavy, it can run even more: as example, my own Tasigur EDH runs 42 lands instead of 38.
