Deck Description

Life(gain) must adapt in order to survive!
...or in this case, Mutate!

This is a Budget Elder Dragon Highlander deck (BEDH). It is meant for the Elder Dragon Highlander format, a.k.a. Commander. If you are not familiar with the format, I'll link it below for you.

I mostly use MTG Vault for my own private projects nowadays, but feel free to comment or request a deck of your choice. I've loved the Vault so far, and I like that they are still improving on it, as well as I am improving on my English language skills.

So, if you like what you see, consider checking out some of my other budget-y work from the link below.

How to Play

Ah, mutation... what could be more natural? At least, evolution-wise, I mean...

This deck was made after I made the terrible realization that there is no lifegain-oriented commander for Abzan (White-Black-Green) colors. I came to the conclusion that Nethroi can offer lifelink to any creature via mutation, and thus can be used as a janky yet fun (at least for me) commander in a such deck. As an additional bonus, you get to drag a whole lot of people back from your graveyard as well!

So yeah, here we are: Abzan lifegain. Drop cards onto the field that benefit you from gaining life, then gain life via multitude of possible ways. The main way to win is by beatdown using huge creatures with tons of power, or alternatively draining enemies dry with Sanguine Bond -type effects. Enjoy!

Statistics, pros and cons. Consider reading these, especially if you are a newbie!

Statistics: (out of 5)
- Deck Speed: <><> (How quick the deck is?)
- Creature Focus: <><> (How much this deck relies on creatures?)
- Creature Size: <><><><><> (How big are the main creatures of this deck?)
- Card Synergy: <><><> (Do the cards of the deck help out each other well?)
- Card Value: <><><> (How much card advantage can you get out of your cards?)
- Level of Complexity: <><><><> (How hard this deck is to properly play?)

Pros:
+ This deck can function really well even without casting your commander. Don't let those nasty control players get their way!
+ Since your commander is graveyard-retrieval on their own, this deck is rather resistant to removal.
+ A lot of lifegain effects means you are not easily killed with typical ways!

Cons:
- Not much of card draw. Retrieval may fix some of that, but this should be taken into notice.
