Deck Description

"I love you, ethereal spirit friends!"

This is a Budget Elder Dragon Highlander deck (BEDH). It is meant for the Elder Dragon Highlander format, a.k.a. Commander. If you are not familiar with the format, I'll link it below for you.

I mostly use MTG Vault for my own private projects nowadays, but feel free to comment or request a deck of your choice. I've loved the Vault so far, and I like that they are still improving on it, as well as I am improving on my English language skills.

So, if you like what you see, consider checking out some of my other budget-y work from the link below.

How to Play

I decided to craft this deck out of a moment's interest. I saw Thalisse and realized she could be used with creature and artifact tokens to spew out even more. I slapped together some graveyard- /death-utility and here we are!

This deck mainly spins around controlling Thalisse. Luckily this deck has a ton of ways to keep her alive, from bouncing her back using Feign Death and Minion's Return to preventing her from dying by casting cards like Valorous Stance and Make a Stand. She can even be reanimated by casting Profound Journey or Unburial Rites!

Once you manage to keep Thalisse in play, use cards like Nested Shambler, Battle Screech and many others to spew out a continous supply of tokens. Thalisse will double that amount in spirits once the turn ends, so even the small amounts can add up quickly.

After all, this deck is quite simple to play, as long as you remember to save up some mana for instant-speed responses and know how to use them effectively.

Deck discussion for BEDH: Friends from Far Beyond

It's kinda odd, but there's a really huge drop in your viewers.
Have you altered in your writing recipe somehow ?
You don't seem to rile up your viewers anymore.

Theres been less troll activity, but it would be pretty odd if they were your biggest viewers, right?

My best guess is that you have somehow started naming your decks differently or are using different tags.

Take a look at your page two of decks to confirm the decrease.

An alternative explanation might be that the trolls are boosting their own viewerships as well as keeping an eye out on what I write because I frequently do something new and unexpected.

Yea, my views have been dropping lately, but I don't really care. I do these decks for my own enjoyment mostly anyway, but I'll be glad if someone finds any use for them.

About the trolls and all, perhaps some users were hellbent on seeing how this troll situation played out so they stayed and increased activity on the site as a whole. As the situation calmed down, they perhaps thought that "the show was over" and left, maybe some for good.

The overall activity dropped when I stopped linking to my theft article to see if that would make it drop, and it did.
But I also gained some extra views, likely by someone wanting to see if I doubled back on it.
(Which I did, but indirectly) but that's the usual boring old story.

I've always loved the way you rate the decks on different aspects, like overall speed, creature dependency and highlighting pros and cons.

It's also good to see that you've increased your output, because you are one of a few number of people who still holds on to a good description.

Lately I've just had a lot of good (or goofy) deck ideas which to post. It is sort of a periodical thing: there are periods where I constantly post decks and all, then come times when I don't make a single one in a month or two.

During most of my life I've paced my creativity to a high level. I can always create, and usually I cover several types of creation. It's a very useful skill to keep fine tuned. It's sort of how I can always conjure something new from toying with magic for example. My out of the box thinking is constant. It takes discipline to keep it going at dead periods, but it is a thing that can be trained:)

It's also the reason why I never settle with one solution. I force myself to revisit old concepts to renew them.
