Deck Description

Elder Dragon Highlander (or EDH for short), is my current and perhaps even all-time favorite game mode of Magic. It allows certain strategies to come into fruition that are almost impossible to pull off in other formats. One of these is known as POLITICS: It is a deck type that focuses on deals and agreements made by among the players. This deck attempts to be a political, yet a bit douchebag-ish one.

I mostly use MTG Vault for my own private projects nowadays, but feel free to comment or request a deck of your choice. I've loved the Vault so far, and I like that they are still improving on it, as well as I am improving on my English language skills.

So, if you like what you see, consider checking out some of my other budget-y work from the link below.

How to Play

Thraximundar doesn't mess around. With his single-player hate abilities, he lays waste of any fool who doesn't leave enough creatures on the board. And with each single one slain by a sacrifical pact, Thraximundar's power grows mightier and mightier. Thus as long as this bad boy is on the field, each one of your opponent's choices become more dire. Note that Thraximundar's mana cost is quite spicy, so it is possible that you won't be able to cast him too many times during the game. Try to look out for good opportunities to drop him in.

Several of this deck's cards cause each player to sacrifice some dudes. Keep an eye out for good opportunities to do so, and remind other players that you are capable of doing it. Perhaps you can wait on the sacrifice for a turn or two in exchange of a fitting reward? Also use cards like Clackbridge Troll, Capital Punishment, Infernal Offering and Assault Suit to show that you are not messing around, and you are more than ready to help others if they are willing to repay in kind. Don't be afraid to ruthlessly focus down those who betray their end of the bargain.

Once the game gets on, you can start attempting some power plays, protected by several strong instant cards. If you manage to slip Thraximundar onto the field and can keep whacking your opponents, you might be able to win the game by only protecting him using counterspells and similar protective effects. If you happen to end up in a 1v1-situation, sacrifice and creature-steal effects can quickly turn the game on your side unless your foes have some nasty tricks up their sleeve.

I often pair Unscythe, Killer of Kings with Thraxi, pumps out zombie tokens with each swing. Just food for thought.
