Deck Description

jerzeydevyl wanted me to create deck around Hundred-Handed One. It was supposed to be two-colored and it's financial value should be less than 10 bucks.
I hope this does the trick.
I'm glad that I was able to create this in Budget Decks -series form.
And by the way, I have created now 500 DECKS! Yay!

Are you bored? Does Magic: The Gathering feel old and vapid? Got any useless bucks in your bank account? Ladies and Gentlemen, I have solution.
Use your bank account on nearest MtG marketplace website and buy some cheap cards, craft a deck, and challenge your friends! To double the fun, ask your friend to create such a deck too!
The Budget Decks -series is meant for your free time! These are meant to inspire you, and deck's value is meant to be low! (Between 10 and 20 bucks.)

How to Play

Inspired by jerzeydevyl.
This deck is less offensive and more defensive, so it would shine well in Two-Headed Giant, but I would not recommend using it in 1v1.
To make this deck more effective in 1v1, I suggest adding cards like Spirit Mantle.

As already said above, this deck is based around Hundred-Handed One, one hilarious giant. It might be able to block 100 creatures each combat if you get to trigger its monstrous. There are some cards that combo(?) with him, so lets check them out:

-Inviolability and Indestructibility make your Giant... How should I put it... Very hard to kill? Yeah. I guess that's what I was looking for. It can block your opponents' creatures again, and again without dying.
-Shield of the Righteous does not make the Giant indestructible or anything like that, but I makes your opponents suffer even more from attacking you.

Other cards that you should check out in this deck are:
-Palace Guard. It works as a mini Hundred-Handed One, and all those cards that are good with the Giant, work with Palace Guard too.

Just thought of something... I'm going to try work in a couple of Wall of Denial... since they seem to fit perfectly in this deck.

Uh ... I got a simic deck that may need a few suggestions, especially for putting +1/+1 counters to work.

Hey Northy, congrats on 500 decks!!! Great job and keep up the great work!!! I do have something to suggest though! Maybe a pair of complimentary two-heads giant decks?

Two decks that work like a dream in Two-Headed Giant?
I guess I could use my mojo on them.

Thought about Mask of Avacyn?

Not so horrible idea. If I can find room for one...

Holy Day could be nice, because you're still blocking all the creatures so Shield of Righteousness will still proc. Also, it will deal with any unblockable creatures you may face.

Hm, he can still be exiled and sacrificed easily enough. Sacrifice is hard to counter, but if he had protection from a color or hexproof, he'd be safe from exile. I'm a bit of a fan of Cho-Manno's Blessing for protection from color, but I'm sure there's plenty other options.

I thought about adding that Mask that Blizard472 suggested...

Northern- I've recently delved into the EDH world (SO much fun), and recently came across a pretty spectacular challenge for you:
Could you, or would you, build an EDH deck with Brothers Yamakazi as the commander?

0
Posted 30 April 2014 at 18:44

That's extremely spectacular, as you said...
Let me think about that. It sounds pretty insane, but I'm specialized in insane things.

Congratulations man!

I've always had a fancy for the handed one and you blew it out of the park.

I have ordered some of your decks and I can not wait to try them out.

This one is going in the card, I always end up playing 2HG and this would make an interesting game!

Nice to hear you have ordered some!
Please tell me how they work when you get to test them!

2

Will do!

I ordered the one dollar deck idea, but instead of treasure hunt, I ordered treasure hunter lol.

Going to my local shop to get the hunt's and playing it this friday!

Go give 'em hell, zeezak!
Let them feel the might of extremely cheap decks! (That may suck, but hey, at least you have fun, and that is the most important thing about MtG, right?)

2
Posted 30 April 2014 at 20:29

Exactly the point.

A guy I play with uses jitties, scutte mobs and what not and its just really annoying.

Im trying out the zombie infestation +treasure hunt out on him first. That should be different.

BUT back to this deck, the curve is nice, its a simple concept, everything seems to flow together and i love the palace guard's in there, reminded me of my old circle of protection deck.

I designed a deck fairly recently that revolves around azur elecutors, so I put in the palace guard and ghostly possession. Works crazy good at defending yourself. And making people really mad. :)

Kazzong... I'm def gonna check out that deck too.

Oh Ok... Wasn't looking for that but sure. :). I just wanted to explain where I came to with the idea. But the deck is called Hurry up and wait, if you did want to look at it.

just thought of something else. Spirit mantle wouldn't be bad in here either. :)

0
Posted 01 May 2014 at 20:02

Yeah, I originally had it, but budget is only 10 bucks so I removed it.
Though it seems that this deck might have place for it now, but I'm not sure what to remove...

1

actually I think that the cards that you have in here right now are better, even though they don't allow your creature to become unblockable, they do prevent it from being killed in combat, and inviolability takes away the threat of burn cards as well.

0
Posted 02 May 2014 at 05:03

I would add in 2 pariah or pariah's shield. While a bit expensive, it shouldn't go over your budget.

0
Posted 01 May 2014 at 17:48

interesting... but what would you put it on? there is already 2 creatures that can pretty much block everything. I guess it would help with burn?

0
Posted 01 May 2014 at 18:03

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. The only things this deck is weak against would be burn and alternate win conditions. Pariah solves the weakness against burn, by putting it on one of the indestructible blockers.

0
Posted 01 May 2014 at 21:25

And if this wasn't budget, Cyclonic Rift would solve all those pesky enemy alternative win condition cards. In fact, it wrecks almost every late game combo. It's not targeted in overload form, so goodbye shroud and hexproof. It doesn't destroy or send cards to the graveyard, so goodbye indestructible and blood artist. In fact, it even hits Planeswalkers.

A beautiful card all around.

She's a little rough to cast at times, but Guardian of the Gateless can also block multiple creatures AND gets bigger with each blocked creature.

0

Not bad idea at all.

1
Posted 02 May 2014 at 07:31

It's a decent card, but in my opinion its 4W casting cost turns me off from wanting to use it.

Usually when I see her played, there's a clever plan or a noob involved...

0

its a lot to read through so if this has been mentioned...but i think a cancel or would probably be better than the current counter that you have in the deck

0
Posted 02 May 2014 at 04:41

Okay. Throwing some Cancels in.

1
Posted 02 May 2014 at 07:32

Your price is still so low, why not upgrade for pennies on the dollar and go with dissolve instead?

0
Posted 02 May 2014 at 15:08

As good as the scry on dissolve is,I think that dissipate is a little better because it's exiles the countered card.

0

you should throw in some Entangler's and Wall of Glare's
