Deck Description

Are you bored? Does Magic: The Gathering feel old and vapid? Got any useless bucks in your bank account? Ladies and Gentlemen, I have solution.
Use your bank account on nearest MTG marketplace website and buy some cheap cards, craft a deck, and challenge your friends! To double the fun, ask your friend to create such a deck too!
The Budget Decks -series is meant for your free time! These are meant to inspire you, and the deck's value is meant to be low! (Between 10 and 20 bucks.)

How to Play

Inspired and requested by MooCow5295.

Pretty much a classic Simic deck based on the Evolve-keyword. Cast a creature, cast a bit bigger creature, cast EVEN BIGGER creature... Umm... Uh... Did I already mention casting a bit bigger creature?

Deck discussion for Budget Decks: Evolving Entity

Showed this deck to my mom who plays Magic(the one I mentioned in that long comment on your 800th deck), and she says she loves this list. I'm gonna have to pick up the cards for this one. If I lose to this deck when I play her while I'm up visiting, I blame you. :P

Great work once again, man. You've given me some ideas for stuff I want to build on the cheap. Keep doing what you do!

-Jared, now amazed at the awesome fun you can still have on the cheap.

How about Increasing Savagery, Tuskguard Captain, Sporeback Troll, Sandsteppe Mastodon, Bow of Nylea?
I think you really need Vorel in here and maybe an Ætherspouts (or Ætherize) or two.
A nice deck finisher would be to throw in a Contagion Engine (probably only one since it's budget).
I'm not sure how much Prime Speaker Zegana or Avatar of the Resolute, but they're good too.

Those are some suggestions i'd make

Ghostly Flicker? It would do wonders for this deck.

I agree, Ghostly Flicker is a good card.

I don't know ... ghostly flicker is awesome to use on those late-game creature's to trigger evolve ... but it also removes all the counters you have hoarded, if you use it on anything else.

Simic Guildgate for flavor? I'd use Thornwood Falls instead, because life is always good :)

I agree. the thornwood falls is just strictly better, and only a couple cents more.

I can tell you are kind going for flavor with the guild gates but if you wanted it to be pretty stupid, you could add an inexorable tide or 2

Tezzeret's Gambit could help you to draw cards and in same time pump some counters you have on creatures also what about Hardened Scales?

I agree that hardened scales would work real nice with evolve creatures id think about adding a few hydras to

Maybe a Master Biomancer? He just gives more strength to your creatures and increases opportunities for evolving.

Also, I don't like to advertise, but could you take a peek at this mana ramp I thought up? Thanks in advance.

Excellent list, as always! I actually ordered your Warriors of Fate list a couple weeks ago, and I've been very satisfied with that purchase. It's a fun list to play, and has a pretty good track record so far, so thanks for that. Would you mind taking a look at my Simic list, see what you think? It's in bad need of a revamp...

You should definitely put in hardened scales.

hardened scales and rapid hybridization in mainboard is realy good with simics. Evolving simics can even hybridize their own creature to more evolve other creatures :D and there is no need for terastodon, better and i think cheaper is wolfir silverheart. its deadly combination with elusive krasis. :)

True! Although, since this is a budget deck, I guess I can see why its not in there since hardened scales is a buck each.

i have played elusive + wolfir kombo on standard when it was legal, and it can cut oponent very fast :)

hardened scales cost a few cents (around 30eurocents) each in our country, so i play them in cheap deck tournament ally deck :)

Great suggestion. Hardened Scales looks amazing in a Simic deck ... especially with Fathom Mage and Gyre Sage.
