How to Play

Inspired by Mastermine.

So, this is a deck that has been made completely with legendary creatures. Otherwise it is pretty much like an ordinary dega deck (or soo-to-be-Mardu).
Enjoy.

Deck discussion for Budget Decks: Legendary Stuff.

Thank you so much! this is great! And its amazing how many cheap legendary creatures that there are. This seems like a lot of fun to play just to mess with my friends in a kitchen table game when they see all the legendary coming out haha. Thank you!

What's so surprising about that? Most cards are cheap, it's just that most players always look at the same expensive cards and don't realize that there are 10000+ more cards in existance, MANY of them playable. Why would legends be an exception?

Very well done I have to say XD I mean, all legendarys???? The opponent's gonna be like 'what just happened here' XD

Yeah. That's why Legendary decks mostly exist; to confuse people.

How about Heroes' Podium? Possibly instead of Day of Destiny, or in addition?

You need Time of need!!!!!!!!! I love the deck by the way...

I can't see much synergy between those creatures. Pumpers aside, the only legends I can see that work together would be Tymaret, Teysa and Rakka-Mar. The rest is just random legends thrown together (and again, odd colour choice, I would have expected green instead of red which would allow to run both Captain Sisay and Reki, the History of Kamigawa).

So, let's assume you don't want to change colours, I'd say focus on the sacrifice theme we have there to give this deck a bit of face.
* Lyzolda, the Blood Witch would be the first creature to add. Both cheap in money and mana she provides everything you need for this deck: Direct damage and card draw. I would add her no matter what, even if you don't want to have any theme.

* Same is true for Brion Stoutarm! He is way too strong to not include him. And you can pick up the Commander version for 50 cent.

* Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder provides you more sacrifice material.

* Good old Stangg provides two legends for the price of one card.

* Crovax the Cursed eats those tokens for breakfast to get stronger.

* I don't know where you threshold for "budget" is, but if 1 dollar cards are okay, Ghost Council of Orzhova and Teyza, Orzhov Scion would be natural additions.

* Yomiji, Who Bars the Way would be a very nice addition, too - it may be expensive, mana-wise, but if he hits play, you can sacrifice your stuff indefinately.

* Kazuul, Tyrant of the Cliffs would be a deterrent to attack you unless your opponent spends LOTs of mana or you get LOTs of tokens.

To make room simply remove the random legends like Kataki.

OTHER CHANGES:

* Rally the Peasants ... I think, themewise, this is a no-go for a deck that has nothing but Legends ... those legendary heroes certainly don't appreciate being called "peasants" ;) I don't know why you think you need yet another pumper but if that is what you want, Sanctified Charge would fit better. (Only for reasons of flavour, remind you!)

* You always add Wrecking Ball but in this case I think Befoul is better. This deck will rarely make use of Wrecking Ball's instand speed but has currently zero answers to regenerators.

Great deck! I love legendary creatures. Day of destiny is so good in this deck, And hero's podium is also a beating. In decks like this I like using leyline of singularity in creature heavy decks because all your creatures are legendary already, but it's off color. If you have time could you check out my weird deck that I just made. :)

Of course I can check that deck out.

EDIT: Umm, have you made it public? I can't find any Weird tribal decks there... Or, did you mean "weird"?

No my deck isn't tribal. Sorry for the misunderstanding, if there are any decks you want me to check out (besides this one) please tell me. :)

Tenza, Godo's Maul would be pretty spankin'

Actually, that's a good idea.

Brilliant! Pure gold! Hero's Podium and Tenza, Godo's Maul and Day of Destiny are ridiculous here! I also love how many banned cards abound!

Northy, decks like this are why we are limited to 2 top decks. :)

Because someone mixed legends with cards that boost legends? That's brilliant?
And do you realize that both Hero's Podium and Day of Destiny were suggestions from Undead Cow? And that this is an "inspired deck" to begin with?

Again, Northy is important for this site, but really, people should pay credit where credit is due and Northy simply gets an unfair amount of it. Yes, it's me again ranting about the same shit and yes I partly do so because, again, I posted two very creative decks that nobody notices unless I force people to, but your post pretty much demonstrates what's wrong with this site.
It's not decks like these why people are limited to two top decks, it's because of the mob mentality and ignorance of the broad masses.

Don't worry, it will be my last rant of this kind.

Hey now .... I get your point, no need to be angry ... though venting is always appreciated.

For what it's worth, your blast from the past deck is probably the single finest deck I have seen on the vault in a long time.

Also ... you can read it as if I was being super sarcastic ....maybe people just don't expect that from me!

Yes, venting is nice, and I am sorry that it always hits Northy, it's not his fault after all.

Ironically ... though my post seems to paint a picture of this site, I don't fit the bill of most of the attention-seekers on here. I love brainstorming and collaboration, which is partly why I mentioned the artifacts. Undead Cow, kudos to you.

Puschkin, look on the bright side ... Northy can only have 2 decks up at a time.

I don't care about how many decks a person can have. The problem is that everybody focuses on the "hot" decks, aka decks that already got much attention. It's the "new" and "unloved" section that players should focus on. And nobody seems to use the deck search - once a deck got buried, it will stay buried forever.

Every once in a while, it happens .... but you are right, if a tad pessimistic. Buried decks rarely get the chance to breathe. I do not like the unloved section, because while some deck-builders legitimately need help, most I have visited did not ... benefit from advice. I prefer to check out profiles. Deck search ... doesn't really help in finding neat new deck ideas, and who doesn't get bored looking at 500 Boros decks?

I'm gonna have to agree with both of you. :)

Sweet ... maybe this rant will not be in vain after all, Puschkin. Maybe some of the viewers of this hit deck will learn to make this a more welcoming community. One can always hope.

For the record ... my original comment WAS heavy sarcasm ... with a healthy dollop of condescension for good measured. And I baked it until conversation was thoroughly heated. :)
