Deck Description

I am attempting to create a new series here on MTG Vault about decks with 100 dollar budget. Unlike my other decks, I will create these only if asked to do so. Also I would mostly like to create only EDHs around this High Roller concept, but I guess I can sometimes make an exception with it.
Probably I won't be creating these decks too often either.

This High Roller deck was suggested by bloodymary.
I hope your girlfriend will have an awesome birthday!

How to Play

Gisa will show her brother that he is messing with the wrong lady.

Cast a bunch of zombies, sacrifice zombies to get even more zombies, buff up the zombies and have a lot of fun!

Deck discussion for High Roller: Gisa's Beauties

Your lack of Mikaeus, the Unhallowed is extremely concerning!

Also, your lack of cabal coffers + vesuva + thespian's stage is equally concerning! :D

I have a couple EDH sacrifice decks you can take a peek at for some ideas/inspiration, or just to pass the time and have fun. I've put a ton of work into them, so they might help out. ^.^

Another thing you could consider doing is putting in Oversold Cemetery. That way, one thing you /can/ do, especially in really big games like, 4+ people, is run your Wight of Precinct six, get four-five cards into your graveyard, then keep bringing him back. He will be a particularly large creature, meaning you can sacrifice him with Gisa to get a ton of zombies at one time, or just smack your opponents with him.

He gets particularly dangerous after In Garruk's Wake is played.

Note: I BELIEVE that Pontiff of blight is not allowed in this deck since he does have a hybrid mana cost in his extort. You may want to double check that, however. Same with Crypt Ghast.

Getting the Cabal Coffers, and perhaps Black Market and Nirkana Revenant or such could allow you to create massive amounts of mana on any given turn, so you could use something like Black Merchant for just extreme amounts of damage, especially if you swing with him and he gets killed, or something kills him and you regenerate him, because then it can trigger again when he returns from the graveyard afterwards ;). Something to consider.

You get a +1 from me, good sir.

Second note:

Since EDH is usually not part of sanctioned tournaments, you can get some of the spendier cards in alt art or even proxies and play with them to give your deck some zing. Most people won't care since its typically considered a casual format.

I highly appreciated all of your suggestions, but as you can see, my budget is starting to run out, even when it is a 100 dollar one.

PS. About that Extort thingie you said before, the W/B cost is NOT part of the ability cost, so you are allowed to play it in mono black.

Such a grey area...

>.>

But yeah. Like I was saying, you can acquire a lot of the spendier cards in cheaper versions for EDH. Since it was a deck for someone else, I figured I'd put them out there in case they were interested in beefing it up and making it a tad bit more lethal. ^.^

That being said...

Get rid of bloodghast (-10$) and put in cabal coffers (roughly same price, more staple of EDH black)

It'll be better, Guaranteed. Bloodghast is only a 1 of in a deck of 100. Its not as useful in EDH. Same with Gravecrawler, if you wanted to chop off a bit more and go for a vesuva to double that cabal coffers.

Could swap out Urborg for Thespian's Stage. That'd give you a chance to have 3 cabal coffers. Far more useful. You only have a couple non-swamps and they produce black mana anyway so urborg is sort of a meh for 10$.

IF THERE ARE GOING TO BE MORE LADIES PLAYING MTG THEN IT IS MY SWORN DUTY TO MY FELLOW WOMEN TO MAKE SURE THEIR DECKS ARE PERFECT!

+1 for more women players (who do not destroy foil cards by making cosplay suits out of them, fyi).

They make them out of foil cards? Oh jeeze... what blasphemy! Unless of course, no cards are harmed in the making of said cosplay...

Anyway! Jessiiiie!

I have a couple decks you could look at. :)

It also sort of bothers me that my witty title edh deck never made it to the front page, even though it had a bunch of likes and comments early on, more so than some of the other ones that made it to the front page. Uaaggh! Its like it conspires against my hard work!

Awesome deck Northy!!, and thanks for your time.
I will be adding Skullclamp and Zombify to this deck, as well as replacing Rise from the Grave to a Beacon of Unrest.

Since SoulFlayer is trading off the charts right now. And I love the card and what you did with it in Modern...could you think about making a Friday $50 dollar Legacy Version of the deck?

I guess so. Mono-black or...?

I very much like the Modern mono black version. It is one of my favorite of yours.
It already had great creatures with Swiftwing and Nighthawk and Fleshbag.
There are just some really good Legacy cards like Innocent Blood that would rock in a deck like that.
And Culling the Weak!!! That card could be god like in a Soulflayer deck.
But make it however you wish, Northy.
And feel free to not be rushed.

While it's not quite the High Roller budget, here is a budget EDH based around sacrificing that I'd like some feedback on:

Pretty cool deck. Gisa is a pretty good commander; my friend uses her.

If you have a second. Would you mind looking over my new standard deck list.
