Deck Description

One of my favorite decks of all time! This deck was originally created as part of a series of "budget planeswalker theme" decks where every card had to have lore, flavor, art, or similar effects to a planeswalker.

At the time the decks all had to be $20 or under, not including the planeswalker, and could only contain 6 rares and no more than 2 of a single card. However, once this deck grew in popularity I ended up upgraded it and moving it into casual multiplayer; Best decision ever.

How to Play

A control deck designed for multiplayer, Nicol Bolas will force his opponents to battle each other while he sits in the back waiting for the right time to strike!

This deck is painfully slow, but it's not a lost hope. Virtually every card in the deck is creature control. Drop your vows as soon as you can on the biggest creatures on the board and force your opponents to deal with each other while you sit back and build up mana. If a bomb hits the field, grab it with a "you control enchanted creature" spell; It's even better if you already Vow'ed him! Your Soul Ransoms will slow your opponents down, and potentially give you a HUGE card advantage. Your Treacherys let you steal creatures for free... no explanation needed.

The ultimate goal is to drop as many Vows as you can, reach 8 mana, and win the game.
By the time you get Nicol Bolas out, most of their control spells will be wasted on the huge creatures causing havoc; If he sits for too long, you win. If all else fails, gain control of every creature on the field and kill all your opponents at once.

Use your Elixir of Immoralities as much as possible to refill your library with used control enchantments and to replenish your life total while you build your mana! Drop Propagandas to sway opponents' decisions to attack you, and if they do attack you, Ray of Command someones creature for a double kill! Outwit will protect you from fatal direct spells, and Dreadbore will keep pesky planeswalkers off the field. If you manage to play your hand in this slow deck, refill it with a Disciple of Bolas or a Syphon Mind.
