Deck Description

A Burn deck, but monoblue! Enough of the boring control and mill decks. Blue deserves some mindlessness too.

This deck was originally built for the Out of Colour challenge. The objective is to make a deck with a strategy not commonly seen with its colors. Another deck made for this challenge was my Red and Green Control. Check it out!

How to Play

This decks mixes the benefits of mindless burning with the benefits of the blue color. Draw engines are a common missing feature in Burn Monored decks and, thankfully, there it is.

Use Energy Vortex only in the endgame; Psychic Purge and Stinging Licid are supposed to help as steady damage, but they are not trustworthy as winning cards; Mind Bomb has the double feature of making the opponent discard his/her cards and, then, dealing pure damage.

Deck discussion for Azure Flames

This is super awesome. I love this idea of blue being a burn deck. I love blue decks, and I love burn decks so I might just make a similar deck. psychic venom and energy vortex just aren't constant enough for my liking. but I seriously love the mind bomb/psychic purge thing. But oh wait, it has to be an opponent doing the discard? so it wouldn't work. well damn. At least its hand destruction or three damage for one drop. A lot of red cards can't say that.

It's unfortunate, but it's true. Blue lacks, of course, burn cards... but the deck can work to satisfactory degrees. Psychic Purge would be the devil if it could combo with Mind Bomb, though. Monoblue decks with a similar approach tend to use those Spellcasters and lots of Untap effects.

I honestly find that boring.

Thanks for the feedback and do keep checking for more out of the loop decks~!

Very nice!
As I fixed my desire for draw and burn with Izzet, you simply erased the R here and turned trash into treasure!
Thanks'a'lot 4 that point of view!

Ah, draw and burn. The staple I've always strived for. To be honest, the frustration with not ever having been able to build a good blue/red deck was what made me try this.

I believe a coherent deck building philosophy can be made from unnatural decks like these. Other angles, experimental decks are always refreshing.
