Yeah you can basically stare them down, pass the turn doing jack shit, both players silent in the knowledge that you have a Big Game Hunter or exactly what you need ready to drop the second they try to make a meaningful play. Sorry Donny. Thanks guys!

Nice deck! Favorable Winds is great, but I think you could definitely get away with splashing black for Lingering Souls to make it even better. If I weren't playing around with Modern here, I'd be abusing Sky Spirits like no-one's business. Maybe it's time for another edh deck...
That's such a great idea, I put in 3.
Thanks to your idea I now have a better deck than I once had, thank you and good day.
Thanks, swapping Duress and Dreadbore around is something I'll have to test.As for lifegain, Devour Flesh is sort of a last resort option, but you're right. Blood Artists were once the key life force of this deck, but now I'm trying different takes on the formula. If a neat way to gain some life (leaving Innistrad aside) comes to mind, I'd be greateful to hear that thought. Any way to ensure top-decking Duskmantle Seer is more than just a flashy way to top yourself!
A Standard Grixis homebrew:http://www.mtgvault.com/pureuncutzubb/decks/grixis-standard-midrange/Any thoughts would be appreciated, always testing and refining, however I am but one man.
I'll second that. Token generation definitely works in concert with the bulk removal and emphasis on midgame finishers. Makes Duskmantle Seer better by increasing your chances of sustaining a life advantage. Fills out the lack of creature bodies necessitated in reaching the required spell count for making Pyromancer himself work most efficiently. And Sign in Blood! May even keep up with Voice of Resurgence if you go hard enough!
Excellent thoughts, thank you! Staticaster is a hold-over from my last version of this deck and I'm not attached to it, maybe I'll look into something that can interact with Exava as a replacement. You're right about her rules practically being flavor text, but Rakdos has afforded me many a turn 5 dropping a D Demon and an Aetherling or some other degenerate play that basically forces a GG. It is definitely clunky in that in many games it can't happen, but at least this shell makes casting Rakdos simple enough when you hit one.Falkenrath Aristocrat is definitely a perfect fit in a more Young Pyromancer-oriented deck, but I've left out Innistrad block cards in this as a way of testing. Testing is the reason Pyromancer's there in the first place, just getting hints at the interactions I could flesh out in a later version pushed further in one direction. That and I was struggling to up the creature count so there was potential there again. The support cards have been tried and tested over time but it's still great to have someone else, who tests against their own microscene match-ups with their own conclusions, come and reaffirm mine. Thanks again, very much.
Damn Heavyduty you nailed it, and I've been looking for an excuse to use that badass card. Cheers!
Can't pass up a minotaur monk. Howling Mine is going straight in, thanks for your input chief!
Heartstone sounds perfect. Thanks for the input, chief.
Awesome deck, all the rebound is crazy cost efficient. Would have a blast playing this, and I just might do so.
Good stuff, thanks for being a good bloke. I was definitely thinking 5 multicoloured creatures was pushing my luck with that card, thanks for that, it's definitely going into sideboard over Pontiff for more T Slips. Buffed Tithe Drinker would be a blast, hadn't considered that as a play yet. Keen to test this baby out!
Looks like a solid deck, late-game is your's if you can make it there. Here are a few changes you may want to play around with: Rot Farm Skeleton is a mite too expensive and only recurring him as a sorcery means he'd spend a lot of time sick from summoning. 4 of him is definitely not warranted. Phytoburst, too, is only at sorcery-speed, which can put you into some pretty awkward positions depending on board state. Try trading a few for a few more Selesnya Charm and test which proves more handy more often. Putrefy, while by no means bad spot removal, may be over-abundant at 4. A Tragic Slip and/or an Abrupt Decay (rare I know but one wouldn't be expensive) would give you some more removal options at other places on your mana curve. Good luck and have fun!
Solid millin' but curve is heavy on 4 drops. The first thing I'd consider taking out would be Balustrade Spy, in favor of Hedron Crab or another good 1 drop. A second Hands of Binding could be cheaper and more fun option than Agoraphobia for managing threats. Good stuff mate happy playing.
Good stuff man thanks for the input.
Solid looking aggro you got there with the 4 Blistercoils and all them spells. No space to add a third Nivmagus Elemental for the potential to really outcurve in power early game? Another card that could really fit your curve is Faithless Looting, double whammy with flashback, could maybe go over Essence Scatter or Negate?Looks like it'd be a lil ripper to play.
Hey yeah Simic Charms are a great idea, Ethereal Armour is a hold over from my original Bant Enchant Deck that was 100% illegal in all formats and I just can't seem to shake it. Also, first strike. Geist is sadly out of my price range but one day, one day...
Don't be ambushed by her viper.
The sideboard is just a graveyard for ideas so ignore that. Yeah I would love to replace Archaeomancers for Snapcasters but of course don't have the scrilla. I do however have another Flicker deck whose WU colours make use of Venser's power in a Detain setting. Thanks!
