Deck Description

Updated Sept. 16, 2017

There's little to explain with this, as we all know MBC, but as this is a multiplayer build, each card has been chosen for it's ability to effect every player instead of 'target' players.

The one-of enchantments offer a great deal of variety and 'randomness,' fun little toys to throw into the mix to make it difficult for everyone. The Disks were added recently; they really delay the multiplayer game.

The deck in it's first concoction played remarkably well. With Vess, Promise, and Tutor, I have some flexibility to dig for options without having to go through too much trouble.

Mutilate has become a star, here, effectively becoming a Damnation (don't have any) while Innocent Blood keeps the basics under control.

All that said, it doesn't take long to turn a multiplayer game into a 2v1, 3v1, or 4v1 with this build.

Deck discussion for (Multi) Creature-less MBC v2

Wow, seems extremely powerful in multiplayer. I suggest Bottomless Pit (a little risky, but quite fun in multiplayer), Delirium Skeins, and just for a fun one Pain's Reward.

i like it, i feel as if it doesnt have enough heavy hitters and relies heavily on the X factor

The X factor gets fueled by the Cabal Coffers which get ramped with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth. The life gain that I get through Exsanguinate and Syphon Soul is so ridiculous that I usually end games with upwards of 60+ health. Adding creatures would go against the ideas of playing Innocent Blood and Barter in Blood, however, I can entwine Promise of Power for a huge creature out of nowhere.

I was doing some hard thinking about Bottomless Pit and the "random" thing worried the hell out of me. Then I found Necrogen Mists, same CC, and the player(s) choose. While random is better for me against an opponent, choose is better for me. Either way, they lose a card, and in multiplayer that's good enough.

Thanks for the advice!

to have even more fun and if u wanted to be a real ass, how about adding in the leyline of the void? or if u have enough control for it, vess + living death equals army of creatures to kill with . lol, great build.

Actually got to play test this today.... WOW! Even with only three searches, I was able to gather the necessary resources to keep things under control to hit the board with Exsanguinates that turned the table. Death Match and Lethal Vapors are a blast, pitting players against one another ('which creature am I killing' (via Death Match) and 'which one of us is giving up a turn' (via Vapors). Lots of fun!

Finished game one at 93 health, game two at 74; Exsanguinating for the killing blow in both games (one player was dedicated life gain). There were never more than 2 creatures on the board, and I always had an answer for something. This played remarkably well!

Thanks for your comment on my defender deck, I've replied to it on that page. I'm not sure I have much critiquing to return the favor with, since these decks look quite well made!

I commented on this one because I like how different it is from my multiplayer strategy. I have a Phelddagriff EDH deck (not on this site) that stalls by keeping the current underdog alive with diplomacy and warm fuzzies until I can swing in and win with general damage. I have to admit, painting a giant target on yourself is much ballsier. :P

You probably have a reason for not using it but it seems like Black Sun Zenith would be a nice addition. Seems like the deck's weakness would be swarm decks as sacing a few creatures for them isn't really all that bad while even just a couple -1/-1 counters out would kind of shaft them.

The main reason I'm not running Black Sun is because I don't have any. However, even if I did, it's inclusion would be situational. I have considered adding Mutilate, but through play testing in my area, the combination of Innocent Blood and Barter has been adequate. Still, Black Sun does give me something to strongly consider should the player/deck base change in my area.

Thanks.

I think the bloodchief ascension/mindcrank combo would work fantastically in here.

there's no need for tomb of yawgmoth here..

also... i dont know what are the syphon spells doing here..

there a lot better Black cards to replace those two

Both Syphon Soul cards impact ALL opponents. As this is a multiplayer deck, the return on each is significantly better than a traditional build.

That being said, with the addition of Bottomless Pit and Necrogon Mists, Syphon Mind is perhaps becoming a wasted card.
