Cards to Consider:

Dive Down
Shalai, Voice of Plenty
Slaughter the Strong

How to Play

Beats Mono-Red, Mono Blue Aggro, Merfolk, and Izzet Drakes more often than not. Often struggles against control with counter and sweepers.

Unlike every other list for this deck I’ve seen, I run the playset of Saruli Caretaker; this often leads to awesome turn two plays with another one drop and a two drop out before the High Alert turn three. Absolutely a must 4-of. I cut down to 3 Portcullis Vine since honestly, if I’m sacking to draw I’m already losing.

Deck discussion for Bant Defenders (MTG Arena)

Made this as my first MTG Arena deck. Took it for a spin on the daily and went 14-1. Lost to UW Control only because they countered Arcades and put Ixalan's Binding on my High Alert. I added Deputy of Detection after that.

Just won 5 matches in a row in Gold to move from rank 4 to 3 in Arena with my build. Beat RG Dinosaurs, Izzet Drakes, Golgari Aggro, Orzhov Midrange, and Temur Aggro.

I've only managed to beat this deck by swinging fast and hard, before they can ramp up. Good design!
