There's no need for more confluence. i can play almost every card with 2 mana. Yes tempo is important. but if i miss a beat turn 3, while already having favored/battlewise out, it's not the end of the world. There's plenty of untapped lands between fetch/confluence/regular that i've never ran into an issue of missing tempo for too many tapped lands.

I'm not too terrified of a Siege Rhino. even if my opponent has it in his opening hand, and has all the things he needs in order to play it. by turn 4, i'll already have my creatures buffed up (and a possible aqueous form). This one, and the other version i like to run, are all about buffing out my creatures quick. Turn one, favored hoplite, turn 2 ordeal of heliod. making him a 3/4 on turn 2. even without casting anything else on him. attack turn 3 = 4/5. turn 4 my opponent plays siege. i attack making my guy a 5/6.
