Deck discussion for Theorycraft: Turkish Simic

Heh! The name Turkish simic is either because you are a turk, or because you misspelled turquoise;)
Which izzet ?

Actually it's because her nickname is Turkish. She loves playing Simic, much to my misfortune! She whomps me a lot. This actually got busted and turned into her Simic Commander deck. A brutal beast that even gives me Sliver Commander deck a run for it's money even when it loses.

I'm super competitive, I might give you some advice, but it will take some effort:)

Your first challenge is to identify what it is about her play style and deck choices that makes her good.

True masters in competitive environments identify the most problematic cards and build up a response behavior to them, that way they don't need to learn all cards in the format and can focus better on a wide scale

Heh.

In her case we were at an open air market, and my wife had received a dress from a friend who had recently returned from Guatemala. So she wanted to wear it, and it was bright yellows and reds with some orange pipping. Needless to say while is certainly not of the Caucasian persuasion we were a little humored when a woman approached us and asked if she was "Turkish?" Her skin tone is apparently a middle range between my wife and my own. Having just seen the movie Snatch a few months previous I thought it was doubly hilarious. So it stuck.

That's interesting, also the first time I've heard someone called on by a region, especially one they aren't from

Ironically enough because of my work I tend to hear a lot of GI Joe codenames, and I agree it's pretty rare to see a name that isn't immediately accessible to the cohort utilizing it. But it does lead to a lot of guys being called "Six Mile" and "Money." Makes for a real pain when you're trying to sort it out.

Names in general can be funny.
I've worked as a semi-porter on a hospital, and part of the job was collecting the namesigns on the beds, so I got "exposured" to a lot of patient names. I once collected someone called, porn, and even though I managed to find a doris, I never found Nemo :)

The names had to be collected and destroyed because the name sign and the names themselves could be used by criminals. The hospital was on the "border" to start using barcodes, because anyone with a phone could perform the crimes without needing to collect the the signs.
